What Is Real Evangelism

Posted on Wednesday 19 April 2006

I am more convinced than ever before preceding the return of Jesus Christ there will be a mighty revival that will bring a great harvest of souls into the Kingdom of God!

Webster’s Dictionary states Evangelism is the winning or revival of commitments to Christ.

Evangelism in America has taken on many forms: bottle water/coke distribution, Door to Door visitation, free car washes, tract distribution, children’s fairs, VBS as well as weekend or week long revival crusades. Which of these is real evangelism? All of them!

Dr. Steven Lim of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary states “The average adult requires between 30-50 ‘positive bumps’ to finally accept Christ.”

With this in mind, it’s not the person who prays the sinners prayer with that one that actually leads them to Jesus: it’s everyone who ever planted the seed or created a positive “bump” in that person’s life that will get the acknowledgement of winning that person to Christ!

Stay committed and keep “bumping”!
