When you read the Book of Acts, it's obvious the Outpouring also brought with it a persecution most Americans (maybe even myself) could not endure. I want God to touch me in such a way that not matter what happens, I can stand for Him. It's one thing to say it during a time of peace, but would we do it whaen everything turns south? I saw on the news just last night an islamic iman from Great Britan who was being interviewed...you should have seen the anger, and the reslove to destroy both Britan and the U.S. in his face and his voice...we ARE in the midst of a holy war! I am grateful for the Brownsville/Lakeland/Toronto/Smithton outpourings. I believe they were demonstrations of the Father's heart for His children. It was a manifestation of His person to reveal His love and to establish a different foundation within His children - one based on love - as opposed to the religious foundations that so many of His children (us) experienced when they joined God's family. However, there is something more definite that is on the Holy Spirit's agenda concerning the United States, and preparation in His people is the first evidence of that agenda. There must be a love relationship first, or rather, relationship experienced in love. So, those outpourings were limited in scope because of their function. I do see a national revival on the horizon that will someday be called another "Great Awakening;" however, it may come in the midst of upheaval, turmoil, and chaos. And, it will probably look different than the "awakenings" of the past. Authentic Christianity will bring persecution. Thus, I believe it is important to distance oneself from distraction and business to the best of one's ability, and to find the arms of Jesus. Preparation for the pressure that will come with the next "Great Awakening" cannot be found in service, task accomplishment, or theological training - but in cherishing and nourishing one's present relationship with Jesus. Persecution steels the resolve and unites the family of God ... but those who overcome the leisure and busyness of a time of peace to find the arms of Jesus are highly esteemed in Heaven, because they have overcome personal comfort to be with the One they love. Some believe they were....but I feel like there is more and something greater God wants to send that will make Brownsville look like a VBS. As for the London plot, I don't know....all I know is I heard the Lord say another attck is eminent. But the Spirit emphasized the intercessors hold the key...I believe we can stop it through continued intercession. As for the 22nd, that will be a defining moment. Islam promotes itself in being a peaceful religion, but we know they want to rule the world and they will do what they have to even use force.
