we think we have arrived...in the words of Jesus we are rich and incresed with goods and yet we are poor and miserable and blind and naked... then if we do get "outraged" it's always over stupid things (at least in the South it is) that don'thave anything to do with eternity.

David,

It seems that islam gets easily offended by any and everything ( The Popes comments for example...). Why is it the we in the Church in general never seem to be outraged by anything?

I got in a discussion with a self proclaimed athiest at a Waffle House one night last year...and the basis of argument was there are really no absolutes...so the next time you are driving down I-95...the speed limit sign really doesn't say 70 mph......drive as fast as you want:))) (kidding)

Our pulpits are filled with people eager to tell what the Scriptures mean instead of preaching what the Scriptures say. Everything is up for interpretation and personal analysis. We have been robbed of absolutes and the Kingdom of God has suffered because of it.

There is nothing more relevant than the Advent. Nothing more relevant than the God who takes away sin and transforms lives. Lessons on how to live happy and wealthy lack the life changing power of the Gospel yet the church has been taught to settle for that.
