Assemblies of God In Transition

Posted on Thursday 2 August 2007

I know this is very off topic…and I promise I am coming with more Guyana highlights (if anyone really reads this stuff:)

As a member of the Assemblies of God, this fellowship is facing a transition of monumental proportions. The majority of the  group (not me I’m preaching somewhere else) will gather in Indianapolis next week to elect a new General Supt. and a host of other offices. We will either move forward or radically backward! Of course politics is playing a major role (and will play a major role) in the outcome.

I just pray God’s man and God’s will be done.

For a good site to keep up with some great 411 check out http://futureag.blogspot.com/

Father give all the Full Gospel/Charismatic fellowships a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit!

Send revival now!!!!!

    David,
You are right on! This will the pinacle for the “defining momemt” in history. I sense that we will move forward, or division will come to this body. I have been praying and fasting over this matter all week and plan on doing it next week as well. I have acutally sent emails and spoken with our district leadership about the grave importance of this council. I only wish I had the time to go.
I pray the Holy Spirit will move in this council with signs and wonders.

Though I’m a ‘Calvinist’, which keeps me from ever comfortably becoming a member of an AOG church, I do greatly admire the movement as a whole and have many good friends within. I will indeed be praying for this meeting and look forward to hearing a good report.

    blessings,

[...] I wonder what would happen if a church could not call itself Pentecostal unless the Apostles and Prophets came and tested the meetings against Pentecost and discerned whether or not the same Spirit that fell on Pentecost was at work in the service. [...]

Quite important that more historical documentation on the AOG be Globally gathered to give the Body a sense of Belonging and Direction.
This would help members to better evaluate their historicity and place in the divine scheme of the Church in their World.
    Regards in Christ.

Over the past forty odd years I have been involved in various levels of spiritual experiences with the supernatural that authenticate
several Biblical incidents as real as we are alive.
These include miracles, healings and experiences with demonic spirits which made the Bible come alive as though we were living back in Bible days.
With regards to the Prophetic Ministry as was exercised in the Scriptures, several of peers can bare testimonies of such utterances which we lived through the years to see fulfilled to the letter.
Some of our ministers who came through these experiences are now ministering around the world as revealed by prophecies. Space would not permit me here to share these.
However, I am convinced that the Pentecostal Churches have struck ‘Gold’ in these our modern times and have made a such nexus with the Apostolic Faith that would defy many a rational minds, modern thinkers and unbelievers.

    Seopaul,

It’s a fact the AG is stronger and I would go out on a limb and say closer to being a true NT movement outside the US than in the US.

The politics of it all really makes me nauseous!
