Mat 5:6 Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
I wrote about the hunger and thirst Pam and I are seeing in different parts of the country. It also grieves me that in some of the same churches where we see this tremendous hunger and thirst for God, we also see people that could care less if God does anything…in fact in reality, they wish He wouldn’t show up because if He does, they know they are going to have to accept some responsibility for their own spiritual walk!
My question again is “What are you hungry for?” Have you ever been hungry and thirsty for something, yet you couldn’t put your finger on what it was?
In the south we have a saying when someone asks us what we want to eat, most of the time the response is “it don’t matter!” If I ever get in the restaurant business I’m going to name the place “It Don’t Matter” and have everything in the world to eat there!
What are you hungry for?
Some are hungry to be out of debt; others for affirmation and acceptance (which we all need to a certain degree);
Others are hungry for fellowship with people who will not judge them; others are hungry for healing and deliverance from a besetting sin.
But are we hungry for HIM?
I am very thankful for His gifts He has bestowed on us; tongues, prophecy, revelation, fresh anointing…
But I am hungry for Him!
I tell churches everywhere I go and I mean it will all my heart: you can find another preacher who can fill buildings…move in the gifts greater…preach better…but I don’t know if you can find anyone who is any hungrier than I am to touch HIM and be with HIM!
The key to revival and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Ghost is not inviting a great orator to speak powerful words of man’s wisdom; there is a need for more wisdom;
But what we are looking for is HIM!
Are we hungry for HIM?

I truely agree with the hunger of the church. I also believe that people are wanting there own needs before God’s which hinders the movement of God. People’s focus is on themselves and not on God. Those same people find themselves in trouble with life. When the answer is right in front of them. God is the answer. The further you seek Him the closer and on fire a person becomes. People need to start to fear God like they did in Acts. When they do. They’ll be tones of revivals everywhere. There wouldn’t be a problem for the Holy Spirit to move.
Thanks, David, for a very affirming word. I just posted on something similar. It is a blessing to see God is moving in like veins with someone else.
Thanks Josh and slw…it’s a blessing to me also to know I might by some slight chance be hearing from the Lord also!
I took my dad to church sunday..He is 88, and it has been awhile since he has been to church..Mom is in nursing home from stroke 3 months ago..I took dad to the church where he and mom first met…They have been married 60 yrs..Dad said church isn’t what it used to be..I have to admit, I am guilty of not going to church like I used to because I am tired of going and feeling worse when I leave..I have such an hunger to see God have HIS way and not the ones in charge..So much of the service depends on the music..I actually felt sorry for Brother David when I was in campmeeting with him last year..The ones doing the singing, well there was no anointing and when he got up to preach he had to start from the beginning..Singing shouldn’t be for entertainment..I long for the day when we all come for the same reason and that is to see God’s Will accomplished, to see souls saved and set free…David you are an anointed man of God and I appreciate you and I just wish I could hear you more..I have never been in one of your services where you didn’t let God have His way with you..THANK YOU FOR NOT COMPROMISING AND FOR TELLING IT LIKE IT IS…PRAY FOR ME AND MINE….Just the other day at school, the counselor made my grand daughter take her shirt off that read GOT JESUS? it’s hell without Him…I know it is a spiritual battle but they wanted to act like it was because of the hell word..My daughter told her we were christians and believe in heaven and hell and that hell is a place..The principal said it isn’t against dress code but could be disruptive…PRAY FOR SOMETHING TO COME OF THIS …THEY SHOWED IT ON CHANNEL TEN AFTER I CALLED THEM SO JESUS GOT FREE AIRTIME,,,,,,
I said tonight when we stop coming to church for entertainment and start coming to entertain (I know that’s not a good word to use) and make the Holy Spirit welcome, something happens every time!!!!!!
Thanks Gerry for the kind words…but I want God to move more than anything else!!!!
