Brokeness Before God

Posted on Monday 7 January 2008

We began 2008 with our friends at New Life Worship Center in Samson, Alabama. The Spirit of God moved powerfully in both services, with people filling the altar crying out to God for souls and for a fresh touch of His Power!

In my prayer time this morning, I felt a brokeness and a desparation in me that I’ve not sensed in a while. Not that I haven’t been broken over the condition of the church, our nation and our families; I have been broken by it all! But I also have this part of my heart that is erupting in anguish over the fact that I don’t think some of us are getting it! This thing we call church is NOT about us, it’s not about our denomination, it really is about His Kingdom, His Glory and His dominion coming to this earth, like it is in Heaven!

I am really at the end of myself! No. I’m not suicidal, I’m not depressed; my heart is simply broken by the lostness of humanity and the realization that we are not going to reach a dying world with a new gimick from our popular magazines or some conference somewhere that is only another con game to make certain few preachers look like they have all the answers to how we can grow our churches!

May God once again set us on fire with Holy Ghost Fire…and people will come and watch us burn!!!

Thsnkd Dr. Mike…may we all begin to see the way God sees…feel the way God feels about sin and things in our lives…may we become consumed with preaching Jesus Only!!!!

May the Lord bless your work for Him in 2008!
