Weekend Update-Hunger For God

Posted on Monday 4 February 2008

This has been a very busy weekend for us as we get ready for our next Guyana trip coming up February 12-18.

Friday and Saturday night we were with New Beginnings Assembly in Eufaula, Alabama. The church has been hit in the gut by satan, but the Glory of the Lord visited with us both nights.

Sunday morning we were with Cross Connection Church in Auburn with Pastors Jon and Vanessa Russell. This is a church plant barely two years old, but they are already making an impact with revival in the Auburn/Opelika area. At least one person was saved and many others in the altar seeking God to take up the mantle God was laying at their feet!

Sunday night we moved again, to Freedom In Christ Assembly in New Brockton, Alabama. New Brockton is the birthplace of the Pentecostal movement in Alabama. The Holy Spirit seemed to hover over the service, with waves of His love ministering to people as they lingered in the altars.

Everything we have seen God do in churches since the beginning of the year have been the result of one key: people’s hunger for God!

A friend of mine Durran Sherrer testified last night about a man named Dan Dubose who was mightily used by God in the early days of revival in Alabama. As he was laying on his death bed, someone asked him was there anything they could get him to make him more comfortable. His reply was, “can you get me a little more of Jesus!”

This was from a man who had preached almost his whole life; loved God and lived for God faithfully till his dying hour. And one of his last requests was, can you get me a little more of Jesus!

God give all of us that hunger for a little more of Jesus!

And may we be willing to give Jesus a little more of us!!!!

Glad to hear that God is moving in your services. The Lord reminded me of a phrase that a man of God had given me. The phrase was your persistence will serve you well. Love you guys. The best is ahead of us.
