Hey Man, Good word. The greatest shoes to fill are those left by Christ. In studying the scriptures this week I notice something, everywhere Jesus went He left a "striring". To be like Him we too must leave a stirring in the hearts of people as well as society. All I can say is "Keep stirring the pot, borhter, the soup will be done soon!". Hope to see you next week in Midland City.

<strong> AMEN!! I AGREE 100%.. I know I am too sharp tongue & direct for most folks, and they all can not accept what GOD has done in me and is doing through me.

The word that you carry is for everyone to hear Brother, but ALL will not be able to receive it and feed off it and live.. So I fully understand how you feel and where your coming from..

But you can preach to me anytime!! I tell all I meet about The Southern Fireball (a.k.a. David Copeland) You tell it like it is, and that is how it should be all the time, everywhere!! Praise GOD, I am getting happy over here!!!..lol</strong>

Theresa,

Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes Jesus showed up BIG last night in Rainbow City! I want to thank you all for coming! I spoke with Bro. Ward in the lobby and I'm excited that God still uses people over 70 years old to plant churches!

Please continue to pray for us that God will open the doors HE wants us to go through and that He will touch people where ever we go!

Stay in touch!

Brother David,

I attended the IGNITE service in Rainbow City, AL on Sunday Night, June 7th and all I can say is just WOW!!!!! Incredible service!!!! Fantastic preaching!!!!! God's precious Holy Spirit was there doing what He does best!!!!! I want total consumption of that Holy Ghost Fire and feel as if I got it last night, too... Ya know, that KABOOM kinda feeling.

I'm a member of Shikinah Glory Assembly of God in Odenville, AL, Pastor W. Bill Ward, except I call him Father Abraham but only because he looks exactly how I have always imagined Abraham to look. We're currently a small church in number only, but huge on love, giving and reaching out to the community. It's just a matter of time before our church is running over with people hungry and thirsty for God's Word, love, Spirit, etc.

Last night's service is exactly what we all needed, at least I know I needed it for certain. And to think that what we all experienced is just a mere smidgen of what it will be like in Heaven when we shall see our King and live with Him forever. For eternity.

You'll have no problem remembering me because I'm the one that shook your hand in the lobby, wearing the purple dress and told you I was gonna start shouting in the lobby and you told me to go right ahead... plus, the lady I was sitting next to, neither of us could keep seated during the preaching, either LOL... I kinda felt like I had wings that kept lifting me off the ground. Just awesome, just like our God!!!

I pray that God continues to use you in His service, that He continues to bless you and your family with an over abundance and may He bless you in everything you put your hand to. If you and your wife are ever in our neck of the woods, please feel free to join us. We would love to have yaw'll there.

Much love to the two of you and just know that you are now added to my prayer list to be uplifted on a daily basis before our Father.

Friday Night Fire was…on fire with a couple of men receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit; the power of God literally hovered over the place! I can’t wait to do it again! Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make it special! You know who you are! Because we live away from our extended family it was nice to spend Saturday at the Levi Family Reunion.
Hi.
I found your Web Site by Google
And I wish you the best you can get,
the peace of God through Jesus Christ.

Welcome to visit my Site.

Why does the revival tarry? It is because God's
people tarry to obey the powerful command of
the Lord in Rev. 18:4. This is the most powerful
revival message of the Lord to his people in our time.

As in the days of Lot, it is now. Lot was not interested
to leave Sodom. God sent two angels to rescue him,
and they must persuade him to leave Sodom. When
he yet lingered, one of the angels said to him:
"Flee for your life sake ..."
Just like as Lot, God's people are not interested to
leave the great Babylon, but finally they must flee
for their life from there.
www.algonet.se/~allan-sv/PAGE88.HTM

Why are the Christians divided in many churches and
denominations? It is because the truth of the Assembly
of God has never been preached in the churches. The
members of churches and denominations are not
permitted to know the truth of the Assembly of God.
If the truth of Assembly of God would be well known
among the people, then all God's people would leave
the churches, according to Rev. 18:4.
I left the great Babylon 43 years ago.

God's people are destroyed for lack of knowledge
because their preachers have rejected knowledge.
Hosea 4:6-11. Instead to preaching the truth of the
Assembly of God, they have preached lies about the
Assembly of God. The Pentecostalists have abused
the expression "Assembly of God" and used it as a
name of their church.

This is right on. God spoke to me the other night that weeping may endure for a night but a shout of joy comes in the morning. It is truly morning for many of us and the dawning of a new day. Thank God for the open door that is wide enough that we can not miss it. The best is yet to come.

That's a good one....It is sad but so true.....people need to put away the hipe and worked up worship and open their heart to that true revival fire that restores the soul, draws our hearts closer to Christ, and spreads like wild fire through the church....God let me be a flame in a dry church!!!!!

slw,
This will probably discredit me with many and end a change of preaching in some churches with others. I realize Pam and are I a good statistic; we made it because when we got back together we did it for our small children who we knew needed both their parents...together. Ministry wasn't even a consideration; working on our marriage was the only ministry!

This happened 25 rs ago: and 25 years later, I'm glad God put us back together; it's really better than it was when we first got married!

<strong> This is a Demon Spirist and it needs to be addressed as such! It is time to pull down ALL the strongholds.. It has happened again in Germany, there will be MORE.. They have been set out on assignment, and they will fulfill that assignment, unless the Christians stand together against them..

It is time to go into the enemies camp and take back all the Captives!! Also it is time that we make Hell tremble!! Amen!</strong>

<strong> I just had to come back and read the new comments since mine was posted here.. Brother David, GOD is calling HIS people back to the "OLD ways", because we have too much "NEW WAY of DOING THINGS", when GOD plainly said: "I am GOD, I change NOT"!!..

Too much slipping things in, and sliding going on, trying to avoid a TRUE crash with the Holy Spirit.. Also, people don't want to get right, because they will have to get away from some "Religious" mess they allowed to filter in..I just get excited reading this! LOL..

GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AND YOUR MINISTRY!!</strong>

I know God does not require slatted pews or brush arbor. In honesty, I don't even know what those are.

But what will have to happen is that preachers need to repent in having pride in their right doctrine and get hungry to have their doctrine validated with signs and wonders.

And the people need to quit worrying how long the service is and start finding out how long they need to wait before the Lord will visit their service.

<strong> I agree with you FULLY, my heart also cry's out for the full blown manifestation of the Holy Spirit in EVERY service... I am not satisfied with anything less than GOD's best!! I have been feeling a leading of the Spirit to come up higher, to get down on my face, with fasting ,prayer & spiritual warfare.. But mention it to other Christians, they will look at you like you have lost your mind..
I do not think people remember how to usher in the Move of the Holy Spirit anymore, it hurts, it cost something, they do not want to go that far to get what they really want and NEED! I want it all, and I will be willing to take what they do not want too!!
I remember the brush arbors, and how GREAT & POWERFUL GOD moved with the sawdust on the floors, or sometimes just dirt and old red clay floors..
Amen! I agree 100%, and I want the same for my life & Ministry too!! Great message!</strong>

The struggles God is taking me through now is showing me that we have it all backwards. Many preach & dont even know who God is for themselves. My generation (the younger generation...I believe God is going to use in a different way..there will be love, mercy, & patience with the sinner, but such a compassion that allows for no excuses.....God has shown me we think we are close to him when we are on our face seeking him, but really it is through our struggles & failures when we think he has left us that <em>He is seeking us</em>!!....God is teaching me there will be a unity b/w the older and younger generation.....the younger will respect old time faith filled revival fire that truly changes lives & the older will not put away the old but be open to say well I may not understand one's walk with God but I am going to stand & not judge and see what God is doing!!!!...God is growing up the younger generation fast solely by his Spirit not allowing them to become attach to people so they know how to stand independent in Chirist!!!!.....The hearts God if you dont do it the people will perish!!!! Time is short...God I want to know you & your truth!!!

Hey Man,
Sorry about your data and your funds, but look at the blessing, they could have stole your wife and if you had not overcame the struggles of your past your marriage would have crash and burned. But God is faithful to his sons.
What can we do to help???????????????????
Love you.

Hi.
I found your Web Site by Google,
and I wish you the best you can get,
the peace of God through Jesus Christ.

Welcome to visit my Site.
Allan Svensson, Sweden

Dear Sir!
Greetings in Jesus name.
Thank you very much for your kind reply. And thank you for your blessed encouragement and inspiration which you given for spreading the Good News.
First of all I would like to tell you that we are running little child ministry in Asia. And after every three months we distribute Bibles for kids and different families in different Villages. If you wish we can send you Bible distribution pictures and report also.
And thank you for your blessed encouragement and inspiration which you given for spreading the Good News.
Since last five years our member translating Biblical Material into Urdu and Punjabi Languages Because in Asia mostly spoken language is Urdu and Punjabi. And being a professional Translator we decide to translate your Website material or books. You can use that as you like but here are options
After translation you can use that translation at your web site for every true believer. And we also distribute that in different villages. Who don’t have access of internet or even they don’t have the Word of God.
If you wrote books, after translation we can also publish it and distribute it.
We can make a CD or MP3 files and can broadcast any international Radio Channel. So that every body can listen not only in Asia but also all over the world.
But Brother you Know its a little expensive work But you have to Help us by paying very little amount for this Translation although market rates are very high but we will charge only 3 cent per word but it’s not a final. You can also share your idea regarding rates.
We shall be grateful to you.
For further details please Contact Us.
Thank you
In Him

I will be praying for you this week. The Body of Christ is at a crossroads in this country. We are going to have to decide if we will listen to the voice of fear or the voice of faiith.
The voice of fear tells us to stay with the predictable and safe ways. The voice of faiith tellls us to launch out into the deep. It is time for the church to rise up and govern in the right way for this country. May God raise up delivers all throuth this land. Thanks for beiing two of them. The best days for the both of you are ahead. Love, Brad Morgan

Every time God begins to do something freash in your life, or you receive a wrod that you truly know is from the Lord, satan comes immediately to steal away the words that has been sown in your heart!

Paul said it best :" For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory which shall be revealed in us."

Paul was from Alabama; you reckon?

Keep digging Chris, God is faithful!

I would also like to say that we had another healing on a horse which had a bad leg injury, the vet had said there was nothing he could do, by that he ment to put the horse down. this was a young purebred hanoverian which are not cheap horses. the owner and i were very upset by this.
he had been prayed over and a week later he was healed. the horse is now teaching people to jump and do dressage. HALLELUJAH

hi
I would like to say that god has healed me.
I had a bad ankle for 4 hand a half years. i teach people to ride horses and i also train and ride horses wich i found most difficalt.
the pain got to the point of giving up on my dreams.
I had been to the physeo therapist who told me i had hyperflexive joints which was why i had problems with my ankle. there was nothing anyone could do for it exept strapping it and taking harsh pain killers.
thank god that the people who i work with are christain and they had helpt me come to god. they also prayed over me and within 1 month i was completley heald. it has been 4 months so far. healings dont always happen strait away, i hope this helps. Thank you lord.

I'm just glad that when you have Jesus, you have it all.

and when you don't, you have nothing.

that only through Jesus comes prosperity, healing, signs, wonders, joy, etc.

Without him none of that matters!

I'm not sure if he's talking about specific teachers or whole denominations, but I think all of us are guilty of that at some point. Thank Jesus for grace! I know that without his grace its easy to cast the first stone. I also know its easy to loose sight of Jesus while condemning others for loosing sight of Jesus.

Really, you cheat Jesus when you start to think you've accomplished anything without his power. And you can focus on the signs and miracles just as easy as focusing on your job or worldly anxiety. But again, THANK JESUS FOR GRACE! I pray anyone reading this who lost focus regains that wonderful relationship! Jesus is waiting for you with open arms!

I will address one point which is that the heart of Jesus is love and compassion. The Gospels say "he saw them and had compassion towards them" and thats where the healing, miracles, and blessing came from. The author tries to separate Jesus from "prosperity, healing, blessing," but thats impossible because the person of Jesus is the heart of the father, which was shown through his compassion. To separate Jesus from his works is to make him into a man- which is idolatry.

p.s AMEN to the drug strongholds coming down! that alcohol and divorce does not attack God's people anymore- and that they have no power over them anymore! Also that generational habits be broken! That the enemy will not tear apart families with these curses anymore!

What of the great challenges for our children who have not said yes yet is to keep believing the report of the Lord for them. I recently had a dream where one of the leaders in my church was discouraged about the lack of change in her children. She had been standing awhile and had got to the point where she found it hard to believe the report of the Lord for her children. She has the gift of encouragement and is constantly encouraging our body to believe the best. I was reminded of the weariness of this struggle and how we need to encourage even those who appear strong.

Hi Everyone.
As promised I now give you a brief account of the 50TH Anniversary Celebrations of the Assemblies of God In Guyana, Celebrated between July 7-11, 2008.
It was a grand 'Family Reunion' which was preempted by several Marches in Guyana from Countrysides, Townships and the City. The procession into the National Park was led by Officials of the AOG.
All roads led to the National Stadium in Georgetown. Floats, colors and Bands gave the occasion a sense of festivity compared to a mini Carifesta. In my estimation there were over seven thousand particiopants in the National Park Stadium.
The stadium was filled and the various Sections from the Ten Regions, regaled in special colors took up their seat on the stands. There were the Miniisters form overseas who were welcomed to the Center Stage. Most of the Old Brigade from among the founders were there.
Such an awe-inspiring occasion brought together tree generations of Ministers and Members of the National Church which boast a Membership of over seventeen thousand with a general following of over twenty seven thousand.
A lively session of singing and dancing (Bible style) prepared the gathering for the the address by the indomitable son of Guyana the Hon Bishop John Ewart Cummings of Restoration Temple Brooklyn New York.
The events of the week were inaugurated by a Grand Service opened to the membership and friends of the AOG. Present on the occasion was the Prime Minister Samuel HInds, a Former Class Mate of the General Superintend Rev John Oswald Smith Pastor of The Diplomat Center, Central Assembly of God. Then followed the General Council deliberations as the days moved on, and elections of Office Bearers at the Diplomat at Church and East Streets Georgetown, Guyana.
All Glory honor and praise to God for a refreshing morning and nightly stirring messages from such Ministers as Rev Trask Former World Wide Superintendent of The AoG, Rev Errol Bhola Former Supt of the AoG in Guyana, Sudnery Ramphal, former General Secretary of the AoG iIn Guyana and Ppastor In Kansas City USA, Rev David Gunther Former Superintendent and Former Pastor of the Central Assembly Guyana, Rev Sam Ramphal former General Treasurer of the AoG Guyana and Pastor of Faith Assembly of Gog in Brooklyn,l Rev John Smith General Superintendent and Pastor of Central and others.
Praise God for the Faith of our Fathers kept alive by the dedicated and sacrificial efforts of the Founders and younger stalwarts still holding the banner high.

Don,

Thanks for stopping by! We had some powerful services at St. Leonard! It's like everywhere else in America; when you live there you see every day how dead, dry and calloused people are. But when you purpose to dig for wells of living water, God never lets you down!

Just discovered your blog (from your comment left on Carl Thomas' RevivalBlog), and am thrilled to see you ministered in St Leonard! My parents lived in St Leonard until they died a few years ago, and I had thought Calvert County was a dry place, spiritually. Thank God he's pouring his Spirit out there!

David, The American church in particular is obviously in a time of leadership change where the giants of the past are passing on one by one. Actually I believe that there are all sort of unused mantles from the past that are going to be picked up and used once more by a bunch of young folks that God is preparing and now introducing.

It will be great to watch and help mature those coming on. Some of us old Calebs and Jacobs could find that our ministries are more effective later in life than earlier.
Blessings,
Michael

Thanks David,

There are so many good observations in this article I don't know where to begin.

We just sponsored a youth conference at VCC Laguna Niguel with 1200+ in attendance. They were sent out to the beaches, parks, and malls to do street ministry during the day. The reports of healings and those who came to Christ were really incredible. The new generation coming on is far more radical for Christ than in the past.

"a stripping of the political clout the American church has had for the last 30 years."-Amen I believe that this will be the case no matter who wins in November.

Thanks for your continual service and your testimonies-- keep them coming,
Blessings,
Michael

One thing I am sure of. There is a supernatural grace to get out of debt in 2008. In the worst of times God is going to provide for his people. Many who are last are in the process of being promoted to the first. These promotions will be as sudden as Joseph's was in the Old Testament. What we make happen for others God will make happen for us. Get ready and prepare for unexpected surprises. The best is yet to come.

You are exactly right! It is so easy to become " Reclining chair prophets " by trying to discern an entire move of God by what we see on the internet or hear from other people. The devil loves for the church to major on the minors and cause us to throw the baby out with the bath water. Also, It seems like I have been thinking & ministering on dominion for the past three months. The word tells us that we are to have dominion over this earth. The first earth that we MUST conquer is our earthly flesh!
I agree, God is doing it.... the question is, Can we see it.?... Isaiah 43:19

I am also glad I found your blog I have been having such a hard time with my own reaction to the revival going on in Florida and I was very concerned why I was not getting all excited about it, it is just that I would think that revival would look just like you said in your 5 points so thank you soooo much for your post.

I like your enthusiasm! Let the fire fall indeed. Would that we would allow it to highlight Jesus, rather than serve as our plaything and wind up turning the church into ashes! I do like your five point definition, and think #1 is especially important. I think the thing I find disturbing about some of the revivalistic ministry I seen, is the lack of emphasis on the reality, beauty, holiness, power, grace, and person of Christ; and the overemphasis on experiences. Experiences are not to be eshewed in my mind, just not allowed to displace the person of Christ. Everything should revolve around who Jesus is, what he's done through his death and resurrection, his promise to baptise us in the Holy Spirit, his preparations for us to be where he is, and above all things his personal companionship and friendship with those that follow him. Enough with the celebrations of heeby-jeebies and herky-jerkies that serve only to embellish ones "spiritual resume" or give credence to lunatic visions or bad doctrine.

I would not rebuke you pastor. Maturity on both sides of the issue can tolerate the other's opinion. I agree a lot of what I see bothers me also. But fact is God DOES move in and with revival! Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17 still are valid scriptures for today! But I also long for the maturity that I feel God wants to bring that will be a result of a fresh encounter with Jesus! His name would be made famous! people's focus would be brought back to the Bible and not fadish teachings that tickle people's ears!

I think when the fire of God comes a lot of Americanized Christian trash will burn!

Let the Fire fall!!!!

I'm going to be out of pocket for the next couple of days so be patient if I don't respond quickly.

David,
I appreciate a revivalist's perspective on the subject, although I must admit, the older I get the more I find myself distancing from my former passion for revival. Age and perspective have made me realize many of the folk I encounter who are "hungry" for revival are hungry like a heroin addict is hungry for a fix. What they want is more electrifying spiritual experiences. Like sex addicts, the experience is what matters, not the relationship. If revival were about a deeper and closer walk with Jesus, I don't think my passion would have become so suspect, but what I've seen in the name of revival is hype and tripe. We rope and bind imaginary demons, herk and jerk to elusive spiritual impulses, pronounce healings that don't stand the test of scrutiny, one-up each other with anecdotal testimony, but what lasting change has any of it produced (except an predilection for the next wind of feeling and doctrine that comes down the pike). What I'm hungry for, personally and corporately , is taking Jesus more seriously, for walking side by side with him through all of life, for having ears instant of hearing him, for a heart that readily obeys only him, for loving people freely as he does, for having iron sharpening fellowship with other like-minded believers. To me, that's what revival is, that's what I long for. So much of what is presented as revival seems like patty cakes and fireplace ghost stories to me. We enter the kingdom as children, do we have to be so childish about what we seek?

Feel free to rebuke me if you think I need it, but I'm a bit frustrated by all of this.

Pastor Steve, I think one lie the American church has bought into is that there is one political party that "stands" for them/us...I am convinced the church is being stripped of her political influence (if we really had any to begin with) because we have come to trust our "influence" and have not been trusting in the Lord to guide the affairs of the nation. Not saying we shouldn't vote, we MUST exercise the rights our constitution gives us. We must get back to trusting the Lord and not a man or an organization!

Thanks for letting me rant. O, it's my blog!
