July 4, 1776 there were 56 men who decided that freedom was worth dying for.  They came to a defining moment in their lives and it became a defining moment in the history of the US and the world. Because of their defining moment five signers of the Declaration of Independence were captured by the British as traitors and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the fifty six fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War. They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to defend the fledging new country.
 
Twenty four of the signers of the Declaration of Independance were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well death would be the cost if captured. Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKean was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.
This isn’t meant to be a dissertation on our history. It’s a simple sermon that I hope is truly a message from God. Secondly, I’m not nominating all of our founding fathers for sainthood. But with that being said let me say this: there is a lot of revisionist today that are totally ignoring or distorting the faith of our Founding Fathers. A lot of these men were motivated by their faith in Jesus.
John Witherspoon was an ordained minister and authored several books of sermons, as well as editing America’s first family Bible in 1791.

Charles Thomson served as Secretary of Congress and was a Biblical scholar. He helped edit the first American translation of the Greek Septuagint into English.

Charles Carroll, the last of the fifty-six signers to pass away at the age of 95 in 1832, wrote out his declaration of faith at the age of eighty-nine.

On the mercy of my Redeemer I rely for my salvation, and on His merits; not on the works I have done in obedience to His precepts.

Another Founding Father, Benjamin Rush, is considered the “Father of American Medicine.” He personally trained three thousand medical students. Dr. Rush also founded “The First Day Society” which was the precursor to the Sunday School movement, as well as founding America’s first Bible society. It was Benjamin Rush who said the Constitution was “as much the work of Divine Providence as any of the miracles recorded in the Old and New Testament were the effects of divine power.”

Francis Hopkinson was a church music director and edited one of the first hymnals printed in America in 1767. He also set 150 psalms to music.

Roger Sherman is the only Founding Father to sign all four of America’s Founding documents: the Articles of Association in 1774, the Declaration of Independence in 1776, the Articles of Confederation in 1778, and the U.S. Constitution in 1787. Roger Sherman was also a theologian. He wrote a personal creed that was adopted by his church:

I believe that there is one only living and true God, existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, the same in substance, equal in power and glory. That the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are a revelation from God, and a complete rule to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy Him.

I could share story after story, but the bottom line is this: many of our Founding Fathers were motivated by their Faith in Jesus Christ. They wrote sermons and creeds and hymns. They founded Bible Societies and Sunday Schools. They served God’s purposes faithfully and completely in their lifetime.

And all their labor, plus the labor and sacrifice of so many others who have gone before us but may never be mentioned in the annuals of American history, or in the books of Church history from the last 233 years, but all of them bring us…..you and I to a place in which we must have our own defining moment!

For the last 30 years, the Church in America has bought into the premise that there is one political party to vote for and one certain candidate we should believe in…and that mentality has directed us away from total trust in God!

GOD NEVER INTENDED FOR US TO PLACE MORE EMPHASIS, TRUST, RELIANCE AND DEPENDENCE ON ANYTHING OTHER THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE ETERNAL WORD OF GOD AND THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!!! (anytime you mix religion and politics together, all you get is more politics)

While these may be perilous days, troublesome days…uncertain days…I have more faith and confidence and Biblical hope today than I have had in the 31 years I have preached this Gospel!

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but Jesus words will never pass away!!!!

All the turmoil…all the political spin…all the lies and all the fear and the fraud is God removing His hand of protection to awaken us to the realization that we need our own defining moment!

What is going to be your defining moment?

On Sunday July 5th, Christian leaders from across the denominational spectrum will lead their congregations in at least 5 minutes of repentance and special prayer for our nation. Not a prayer for a change in political party; but prayer that the Church of Jesus Christ will once again humble herself and pray and seek HIS face and turn from our wicked ways; then HE will hear from heaven, He will forgive our sin and He will heal our land!

As we humble ourselves during our July 4th celebrations today and tomorrow, may this be our defining moment for a turn around to righteousness!

I was able to spend some time having lunch with Pastor Johnny Hamby, Pastor of Beauregard Revival Center in Opelika Alabama this week. We were discussing different things we both are seeing take place in this world of ours. We are truly living in the last days! I know, we’ve all heard that so much we are sick of hearing it! But it doesn’t change the fact that Jesus IS coming soon!

While we were fellowshipping (that a charismatic term that means we were feeding our face) I remembered a couple of weeks ago I happened to turn on the TV when we got back to our room after a revival service, and Conan O’Brian was being interviewed by Jay Leno on what his thoughts were on taking over the Tonight Show. He had been told over and over that he had big shoes to fill. He basically said he would like for once not to have big shows to fill…

Two things dropped in my spirit;

1. All of us have big shoes to fill! Or better, all of us are traveling down a trail someone else has already blazed! Jesus told his disciples in John 4:38 that they were entering in to other men’s labors; others had preached and lived and declared and suffered and sacrificed so that the generation alive then would be prepared to hear the words of Jesus and be changed.

Don’t curse the fact that you are living in the shadow of someone elses success; and don’t complain if you are living in the shadow of someone elses failures! God had enough confindence in us the we would do the right thing and follow Him with all our hearts., or He never would have called us to begin with! Don’t allow the spirit of disqualification to paralyze you with fear or unbelief so that you are not able to finish the assignment you have on the earth! God has not called you to be like any body else on this earth; He has called you to be you! So be the BEST you you can be. You cannot be that by simply thinking good thoughts or saying good things about yourself; it comes from a place of total surrender to Jesus Christ and His will for your life! 

2. Everybody has some kind of mess someone has left them to clean up! This is preaching to me, because as an evangelist, I get to live in the shadows of what other evangelists have done, both good and bad; and every day of my life I get criticised or compaired to some jack-leg preacher that has abused or misused people, or someone who has been exposed for being in the ministry only for the money. Yet God is calling me to be faithful to what HE has called me to do.

I am coming out of the closet! I am an itinerant minister and I am not ashamed of it! There are many many churches I will never get to preach in because my gift would not be accepted there. I do not want to go where I am tolerated, I want to go where the Grace of God in me can be celebrated! And when I do that, it pleases HIM, brings honor to the Kingdom of God and adds treasure to my pile in Heaven. I want to have a pile of treasure when I get to Heaven, don’t you?

In prayer this week, the Presence of God began to break me with His massive love…and all I could say is God, please let me finish strong…let me finish STRONG!

Let’s determine to finish strong in the Lord and in the power of HIS MIGHT! Everyone is walking in someone elses footsteps; and everyone is having to live down someone elses mistakes!

The grace of God is a gift to be treasured and respected; not a line of credit to be abused and misused!

We will be ministering this weekend through next Tuesday in Midland City Alabama (outside Dothan) at Sanctuary of Praise with Pastor Ricky Martin. At least 7 different churches and ministers from several other ministries worshiped together and the Glory of God fell! I feel that we are going to begin to see more of these unity meetings take place; especially among the Spirit Filled community. Not as an act of competition or man building; but in the spirit of cooperation and unity Jesus prayed for in John 17.

The altar was filled with hungry people crying out to God for the fire of God to consume their lives. And at least one that we know of was filled with the Holy Spirit!

Thursday was spent traving to Washington DC where we were able to spend a few hours with our daughter and her family who are working with Pastor Mark Batterson and National Community Church. There are making a tremendous difference in the lives of the people of Washington DC!

Friday was a lllooonnnnggg and I mean long drive home through some of the heaviest rain and traffic I’ve seen in ages. Getting home at 3am doesn’t leave you much time to answer phone calls and blog. Especially when you have to pry your hands off the stearing wheel when you do get home! So friends, I’m not avoiding your calls; give me a chance to stay in a cell phone area for longer than 30 minutes without having to study to preach! I promise, I will call you this week!

Sunday will find us in Rainbow City Alabama at Life Church with Pastors David and Susan Strahan. Sunday night we will they will host a regional one night Holy Spirit Emphasis that we are believing God to use to empower that region with an awakening from Heaven!

Sunday May 31 is this year’s Pentecost Sunday Celebration! We are excited to be back in Wytheville Virginia with our friends at Liberty Hill Church and Pastor Bobby Lewis!

As we celebrate the birthday of the church, let’s remember without the Power of the Holy Spirit we are nothing but another social gathering! We can gather to socialize on Facebook and MySpace! Let gather tomorrow and contend for the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit this planet has ever seen! Transition is never an easy season. Yet for many years, God has been pulling the body of Christ through many changes. The world changes constantly, but the church always seems to lag behind. But it’s not 1950 and it never will be again! The one thing that is constant no matter what generation you are a part of is:change

But understand I am not one given to change simpy for changes sake; Solomon warns us to beware of those kind of people. But without a doubt, God is pulling us through some massive changes, which when He does it is always for the better!

Allow the Holy Spirit to bring to you, in you, and though you the changes HE wants to make in your life this week! You will always be the better for it!

Several were saved and filled with the Holy Ghost (yes, I said it they spoke in tongues in a Baptist church; but this ain’t yo mama’s Baptist church!) and the power of God again hovered over every service. But what blessed me the most (again) was I counted at least 7 (seven) different churches that participated in the meetings this week; most of them Pentecostal and Independent churches, coming together with a Baptist church to see people saved, get on fire for God and to renew their own passion for Jesus!

This is becoming a recurring theme; I know I repeat it over and over; but the Holy Ghost IS doing something so unique, that I see John 17 beginning to unfold before my eyes! Jesus’ prayer that we may be one, even as He and the Father are one is coming to pass! Not an ecumenical unity that says we must compromise the integrity and the purity of Scripture; but a unity based on Scripture, the Cross and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

To me, that’s revival!

Last weekend at the tent revival in Immokalee Florida God showed up in a mighty way! We were honored to be able to tag team with Carl and Tracey Thomas on Saturday night and Sunday night. I will let him post and tell his perspective. But God literally drew people from all over the city to the tent, saved them and filled many with the Holy Ghost!

Headed to Immokalee Florida to take part in a tent meeting that is being conducted by The New Testament Church there in Immokalee. My friend Eddie Ruis who travels with us to Guyana frequently gave us the invite and Pam and I are super excited! The demons I have had to battle this week indicates its going to be a great weekend in the Holy Ghost! This is the third week of meetings under the tent with many people coming to Jesus; they are also feeding everyone who comes a full meal every night! That’s a great outreach if you ask me!

I don’t know anyone who would turn down free food! Looking forward to hooking up with my friend Carl Thomas some this weekend also!

Friday Night Fire was…on fire with a couple of men receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit; the power of God literally hovered over the place! I can’t wait to do it again! Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make it special! You know who you are!

Because we live away from our extended family it was nice to spend Saturday at the Levi Family Reunion. This was a time for us to gather with Pam’s family riding four wheelers, playing kick ball pulling pranks on one another, telling tales and of course…eating chicken and banana pudding!

Sunday services at Watts Bar Church of God had the altars filled with hungry hearts, some receiving salvation, some rededicating their lives to Christ and many receiving the Holy Spirit Baptism! This church was already in a spirit of revival before we came; God just intensified it on Sunday! We appreciate Pastor Connie Goins for allowing us to take part in this special day! And thanks to everyone who responded to the drawing of the Holy Spirit!

I ministered on Sunday morning on “What Do You Do When God Says No?” I was going to do a teaching on it and sent it out to our partners; but I may send it as it was ministered on this past Sunday morning. For the last three years, God has been dealing with me about getting more on neutral territory and have services. Not to abandon the church; but there is a whole segment of our society that will never darken the doors of any local church. They are hungry and searching for God and would consider coming to something held on neutral territory! We were delayed in landing in Houston because of flooding rains that covered the runway at Hobby Airport. we were routed to San Antonio for fuel then to Houston putting us in at 6pm instead of 2pm making us miss the Saturday night service ordaining Jim and Elayne Slater. But we did get in on the closing prayer which was very powerful!

Sunday the gifts of the Spirit flowed freely and powerfully; at times there wasn’t a dry eye in the church! While most pastors are moving away from allowing the gifts to operate, I’m glad to know of a church that is actually allowing the gifts to operate with excellence and order! Bringing edification, exhortation and comfort! I think Paul covered all that in 1 Corinthians 14.

I am also very grateful for the partnership that God has given to us with NLBC as well as many other churches across the nation. Digging wells of Living Water is the most important assigment we have in this hour! God help us get ready for the Great Awakening that is coming!

On Wednesday the church received a tremendous gift from a local hospital; a used ambulance! Ray Christy otherwise known as Boomer, has an outreach ministry to emergency services personnel and to victims of fires, wrecks and other emergencies; for the last several years, they have been going to fires, wrecks and other disasters serving the emergency personnel, coffee, snacks, water Gatorade, etc. as a ministry to both the professionals as well as the victims. For the last several years they have operated out of the back of Ray’s truck; now he has his own ambulance to work out of! WHAT A COOL OUTREACH!!!!!!! Yes, I shouted!

To God be all the Glory! He IS moving! Touching hearts, changing lives, and giving creative ideas to people and churches on how to win their communities to Jesus!

All with the fire of the Spirit, and a passionate love from God!

Another joy of blogging is it has given us opportunity to connect with people who have the same heart we do: to see another great awakening come to this beloved nation of ours!

I had the opportunity today to have lunch with a fellow revivalist, Randy Martin from Bloomington Indiana. Randy and I a year apart in age, and entered the ministry approximately the same time, as young men. And we desperately want to see a genuine outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit touch our generation and the generations coming behind us! We don’t want to go back and recapture some “old glory”; we just know the glory of the latter house will be great than the former!

And I say, “bring it on Jesus!!!!”

I had sensed all week this was going to be an unusual Resurrection Weekend; different than anything we have experienced in our lifetime! I appreciate every pastor who has ever given me the opportunity to preach for them on Easter Sunday. Not many men of God want to give up the chance to preach to the lost on the most important day of the year! (And I don’t blame them!) Thanks Pastor Gary Thomas for letting me preach in Bedford today!!!!

While I have many wonderful memories of Easter Dramas, Easter Revivals, Sunrise services, in my spirit I felt like something was going to be different this year!

I preached on Hope and what the Resurrection means to me…while many who raised their hands for prayer at the altar call didn’t respond; many of them did! And those who did came into a fresh encounter with the Lord!

But something has shifted today! And from all the different reports I have gotten from around the country, there were more people in churches all across the country today than have been in many Easter Sundays!

In spite of what the news tells us that the church has lost its relevance; and in spite of Newsweek magazine publishing an article on the Decline of the Church, I HAVE a bulletin:

The church is not dead, because Jesus is not dead! HE IS RISEN!!!!!

Get ready folks! God is getting us ready for the next Great Awakening!!!

We began coming here annually about four years ago and God has knit our hearts together to see a harvest of souls come from this area! In fact, I’m convinced this is one of those catalyst churches God is using under the radar to influence a community as well as a generation for Jesus!

We drove all night back to Alabama to take care of some personal as well as ministry business; we begin the trek to Bedford Indiana and Tabernacle of Praise. We have had many wonderful meetings with this congregation! And we are looking for God to do some great things this next week there. Pastor Gary Thomas told me the church is already in a state of revival; with this being Resurection Sunday, we are believing for a great harvest!

We continue to have people visit our blog after Goggle-ing info about the Spirit of Absalom. No subject (other than revival) is deeply burning in my heart than the subject of Absalom. I feel it is one of the most annoying as well as hindering spirits (if you can call it that) that is effecting our forward progress in God. This month of April is said to derive its name from the Latin verb aperio, which signifies to open, because all the buds and blossoms are now opening and we have arrived at the gates of the flowery year.  (Charles Spurgeon Devotion)

To open. As we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ this month I want you to take time to focus on a couple of thoughts:

First, the heaven opened. The heaven opened one day and an angel came and visited an unknown insignificant Jewish girl in whom God was well pleased; and she opened he heart and received and believed the word spoken unto her. Be it unto me according to your word Oh Lord!

Second, death opened. Death opened up its sinister mouth and took our Lord Jesus Christ. He was not killed; the Romans soldiers didn’t kill Him; the Jews didn’t kill Him; He gave up the ghost…He died! But all the while he was dead, He was really alive! Taking the keys away from satan that had kept generations in fear of the unknown that was to come! While He was dead, He was opening up eternal life for all humanity, taking the keys of hell and of the grave!

Thirdly, the grave opened. When the first day of the week had finally arrived, God dispatched an angel to open the grave that had been sealed by Pilate and the Sanhedrin council to prevent people from stealing Jesus’ Body and saying He was really alive. The Sanhedrin couldn’t keep Him there; the Roman soldiers couldn’t keep Him there; satan couldn’t keep Him there, because when God the Father opens the door, no man can shut it!

April signifies to us also there is coming a day in which the heavens will open, and “… the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”  I Thes. 4: 16-18

April declares to me the open door for a new beginning! New flowers, new leaves on the trees, brown grass turning green again, all tell us our Father loves us so much He is giving us an open door to a new beginning!

Don’t be afraid to walk on through the door to your next season in God!

I appreciate the overwhelming response from around the country and all over the world we have received for Samson. As most of you know, we were a part of a seven week outpouring there at New Life Worship Center in 2006 that has bonded us to that congregation as well as to the area. Please continue to pray for both Samson, Geneva and the surrounding area as they continue to recover from the slaying of 10 innocent people on March 10th.

Some prayer points: pray against the spirit of fear, as well as unforgiveness, bitterness and disillusionment; these have all overwhelmed the people in area. Now that the satellite trucks are gone from the area, the real men and women of God are laboring on a daily basis to be a channel for the healing power of God to flow through! I am writing again today to thank each of you who have responded to our call for prayer teams and workers  for our outreach to Samson Alabama this Saturday March 28th beginning at 9:30am Central Time.

To those of you who have committed to participate with us, we will gather at New Life Worship Center 206 Magnolia Street in Samson. After a time of worship and prayer, we will divide up into teams of at least two or more and disburse into the neighborhood. Those who want to only pray can participate in the prayer walk; others will go door to door simply offering prayer and encouragement to those affected by the tragedy of March 10, 2009 in which 10 people were killed, most of them in the very neighborhood of New Life Worship Center.

Thanks again for your response to this call! To everyone who has other commitments this Saturday, but have agreed to have a special time of prayer for Samson, the city of Geneva Alabama and the surrounding area, thank you!!!!!!  And thank you to our friends overseas who are a part of Revival Now Ministries and Revival International who are standing with us in prayer for this event.

The Kingdom of God is not about one church or denomination! When God’s people gather together of every race and denomination, God does something supernatural! Please stand with us on this day that this will be a type of Purim, the Feast of Esther’s time- a day in which God’s people will rise up, spoil and drive back the very enemies that have thought to steal, kill and destroy the citizens of this area!

We were also honored to have between 15-20 young men from Center of Hope join us for the services. This is a Teen Challenge type restoration ministry located in Oxford. The hunger and passion for Jesus in those young men are contagious!

With all the uncertainty in the world in this hour, one thing is certain: Jesu will touch people where ever He can find people who will position themselves to receive!

We begin services tonight in Oxford Alabama at the House of Prayer Church of God with Pastor Vance McCollum. Bro. Vance is a dear friend and fellow short term missionary who has traveled extensively to Vietnam as well as to Honduras. It’s been several years since we have been able to be in services together, so Pam and I are looking forward to this weekend’s meetings.

You may have watched the news last week as the tragedy unfolded in Samson Alabama. A young man who everyone in town believed to be a good, stable person, shot and killed 10 people before turning the gun on himself and taking his own life. This all took place just a couple of doors down from New Life Worship Center.

Pam and I had the opportunity this week to travel to Samson and visit with our friends  Pastor Jack & Kay Chancey, Pastors at New Life Worship Center. I also attended the funeral of the mother  of the young man who did the shooting, and I can tell you the town needs our prayer in a big way!

With that in mind, we at conducting a Prayer Walk/Outreach in Samson Alabama Saturday March 28th beginning at 9:30am Central Time. We are inviting intercessors, evangelists, pastors, counselors and anyone who desires to participate to join us. We will begin with some worship and prayer at 9:30am and then walk the streets going door to door offering prayer and encouragement for the citizens of the neighborhood, as well as prayer walking the area. There is a spirit of depression, fear and disillusionment that is gripping the area that can only be dealt with by prayer and intercession. New Life Worship Center as well as several other churches in the area also need us to come along side them with this support.  If you would like to participate, please RSVP me by replying to this email. This will help us prepare for snacks that our ministry will be supplying.

I realize many receiving this email live in other parts of the US and many others are in other parts of the world. I am asking you to set aside some time on Saturday March 28th to pray for Samson Alabama. Pray for hearts to be open to the Lord as we reach out to them with the Gospel; also pray that the saints that take part in this outreach will have the sensitivity of the Spirit to break every stronghold the enemy has sent against this small Alabama community.

I try to stay away from too much lighting rod discussions and focus more on seeing revival come to America. But I have to speak out on this subject becasue it is one very close to my heart. My marriage and ministry is a result of the restoration power of God!

I don’t want to air the whole story here, but in 1985 both me and my wife fell into sin; backslid on God and both committed adultery. But because of the grace of God and the prayers of the saints of God our marriage was restored, our family was restored..and after a period of setting on the pew and studying the Word and repenting in earnest in an altar of prayer (both in church and in the privacy of my home) and submitting to Godly authority, God restored my ministry. And all three have been greatly blessed since then!

I know I’m going to be attacked here but hear me out: GOD IS MORE INTERESTED IN OUR CHARACTER THAN HE IS OUR MINISTRY STATUS! I believe in the grace of God! But something has to change in the Pentecostal and Charismatic circles or God is going to send the most severest of judgements upon us!

God doesn’t restore some marriages because one or both parties do not want it to be restored!

I pray for Todd that God does restore him to truth and Biblical Holiness.

But my heart breaks for his ex-wife Shonnah and his three kids who are left behind to pick up the pieces of their family and the ministry in Canada while dad does his “thing”.

Oh Father, please forgive us for our lack of discernment, our lack of discerning of spirits and our unwillingness to stand against unscrupulous practices by leaders in our churches!

Father please send us a genuine souls searching and heart saving revival….soon!!!!!

We are all shocked to see the tragedy that has taken place in Samson Alabama as a gunman went on shooting rampage and now at least ten are dead including the shooter. The Samson killing spree began in the very neighborhood of New Life Worship Center where our friend Jack Chancey is pastor and ended in Geneva Alabama in the Wal-Mart parking lot. We have been phone tagging Pastor Jack to get a further update, but God is using him mightily to minister to the community so it’s been hard to reach him.
Our prayers are for the families affected by this event.

In the Sunday services at First Assembly in Rosenberg Texas, Living Water was flowing freely. At least two young men gave their lives to the Lord Jesus! Many others filled the altar in both services seeking the face of Jesus.

This morning I went to a pastor’s prayer meeting in which nine pastors from the city of Rosenberg are meeting weekly to pray for reconciliation among the races in this area, for an exposure to corruption in high places, and for revival to come! I saw that vision I had in 2002 coming to pass!

While the vision is not complete, all I could do is weep and thank the Lord that Jesus’ John 17 prayer is not a hoax! It is coming to pass before the coming of the Lord Jesus!
In fact, this is not only happening in the Houston Rosenberg area, it’s happening all over Houston…and it is coming to your city…soon!

USA Today had an article on the front page today titled “Almost All Denominations Losing Ground, Survey Says”. In this survey 15% of those interviewed expressed NO Religion as their “religion. Many have walked away from the church as a whole in America. Some are flying under the radar, choosing to worship in house churches, or many, no church at all. This is opening the door for experimenting with different idea and religious concepts…which I believe are opening us up for the next Great Awakening!

A Great Awakening happens when social change renders traditional religion (or the thesis in Hegel’s terminology) no longer able to answer the questions posed by contemporary life. A certain disconnect occurs between religion and the real world. New belief systems attempt to fill the gap, eventually leading to a full Great Awakening. (Wikipedia May 15, 2005)

The disconnect has occurred! May God pour out His Spirit in such a way that He wakes up the church first! But if she refuses to wake up, may people all over the world have their hearts opened to Jesus and know from first hand experience, HE IS ALIVE!

This movement (this includes all of us of the Spirit filled Community) began in the fire of revival. This outpouring of the Holy Ghost shook the world in a way it hadn’t been shaken since Pentecost; this move of God’s Spirit that propelled missionaries to the four corners of the globe with signs and wonders that followed their work…a move of God’s Spirit that renewed the cry, “it’s not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of God!!!

In my 20 years now as a Spirit Filled minister, I have seen wave after wave of God’s power move across the state of Alabama and across the United States; in youth camps and conventions, in outreaches and outpourings; in special revivals and Sunday services Alabama alone has seen some of the most powerful preachers and missionaries, youth pastors and churches explode with fresh outbreaks of the Spirit’s power..

But what I’m seeing now is far different from the movement I joined some 20 years ago!

Please understand my heart: I love the Full Gospel/Pentecostal/Charismatic movement! But the question I keep wrestling with is this: Knowing we were born in the fire of revival, why do we think we can now be made perfect by the flesh?

Before you write me off as a lunatic who simply wants to go back to “the good ole’ days” please understand: I have Twitter! I’m on Facebook, I have a MySpace page! I have a website and a blog that is just about more than I can keep up with! We have a radio program that airs on seven stations across the US, I do TV and we’re even looking into the possibility of creating our own Internet TV channel to air revival services from all across the country! We stream services live on Revival Now TV through Ustream in those areas that have High Speed Internet access!

We must use every tool and every means of technology available to us because I’m convinced we ARE the generation that can see the Great Commission fulfilled in our life time!

But have we gained so much recognition from “the movers and shakers” in American Christianity that believe the gifts of the Spirit have ceased to be; we think we no longer need the power of the Holy Spirit to invade our services? Folks, we need the Holy Spirit to awaken us to the fact we may be good, but we are still not good enough! Quite a number of places Pam and I go to in the US are really wretched, miserable, blind and naked…and glad of it!

Has Christian TV created such a false idea of Spirit filled living and preaching and worship we are willing to reject and renounce the spontaneity of the moving of the Holy Spirit from our churches and services?

I am not saying we shouldn’t be relevant! The Holy Ghost always has been and always will be relevant! I’m not saying we should go back to slatted pews, hacking and spitting preachers and brush arbors with no central heat and air conditioning!

But is there a generation of leaders who so want to be validated by their peers they are willing to pervert the Gospel to fill a building? Is there a generation of leaders who really are convinced what was begun in the Spirit can now be made perfect by the flesh?

I know I’m going to get an email saying I am against big churches; I AM NOT AGAINST BIG CHURCHES! I am not against preachers who use the tools available to us to engage the culture, illustrate a message, and attempt to draw in a generation of young people who were raised in homes that totally rejected the Gospel and the influence of the church.

Is what was begun in the fire of the Spirit now made perfect by the flesh? I also know those who oppose the new thing God does are usually the one’s who were involved in the last thing God did!

I just want GOD to be doing it and not a slick marketing campaign that is smoke and mirrors and never brings people face to face with the eternal question: “If you we to die tonight, do you know for certain you would be welcomed into God’s heaven!” The call of the evangelist on my life compels me to bring people to a clear cut decision with the question: is Jesus the Lord and Master of your life!

This has all created a vacuum that has allowed mankind to substitute a relationship with Jesus Christ with other “gods”, or other belief systems. People will talk about “god” all day long with you. But which god? The god of ideas and cult rock star political personalities? The god of career? The god of having my “needs” met? The god of popularity and prestige? The god of political correctness? Or the God who created the heaven and the earth, and sent His Son Jesus to die for your salvation!

This vacuum will continue to be successful for a time. But a shift is coming that will reveal we have not been what we thought we have been! And people will once again cry out to God for forgiveness and mercy and grace! That cry will lead us into the next Great Awakening!

Because the next thing God does is always greater than the last thing God did!

What a wonderful weekend we experienced at Evangel Temple in Lanett Alabama! The power of God hovered over each service and the altar was filled each night with hungry hearts seeking HIS face! It was such a joy to be able to minister in the church in which Pam and I served for over 14 1/2 years. Our girls were raised there; they were baptized in water there; our oldest daughter and son in law was married there; but most of all, the same anointing we experienced when we pastored there is still there moving among His people!

I was doing some research and found the name Alabama is a Choctow Indian name that means to cut a thicket. There is an apostolic anointing on the entire state of Alabama! God used Alabama to bring to focus the need for change in Civil Rights back in the 60’s; and I am convinced God wants to use Alabama in paving the way for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the 21st Century!

Lord, let the fire fall!!!!

 Dear Friends,

Hope all is well with all of our friends and partners as we speedily progress in to 2009! It’s hard to believe we are now coming to the end of the 2nd month of the year!

I just returned from Guyana South America where for the first time in over a year were honored to minister among the Amerindians in the Northwest region. Scores of young people walked the isle and gave their lives to Jesus, and many others were baptized in the Holy Spirit; and on Wednesday in the village of Wauna we were able to baptize 12 people (many of them teenagers) in water! To God be the Glory!

God has been giving us some changes in direction for Guyana for the last several months. While we will continue to take trips there, we won’t be traveling to Guyana as much as we have been the last 7 years. For the next season (God knows how long that will be) we are going to bring a greater focus to the nation of Kenya. Doors are so wide open there for ministry for us, it is physically impossible for us to meet or fulfill every invitation! Almost every day (no exaggeration) I get an email from a pastor or church group pleading for us to work their church in our schedule when we go to Kenya. It’s SO nice to be wanted! We are sensing could be our “Macedonian call” for this hour! Please pray God will give us firm direction as we labor among the people groups in both these countries; time is short! Mine and Pam’s desire is to stay in the center of our assignment, where ever and to whomever that will be!

I’m a consumer.
So. You want me in your church. Here’s how to get me.
1. Parking. I need lots of space for my big SUV. And it better be close to the doors. Don’t want to do much walking. So if it isn’t - how about a shuttle.
2. Nice Building. This is important. I’m not interested in some strip mall church that looks like it’s struggling. Or an old traditional church - unless you’ve done millions in renos. I’m an upwardly model semi-professional. I want my surroundings to reflect my importance.
3. Proper HVAC. This isn’t important. It’s critical. I want to be cool when it’s warm and warm when it’s cool. 68ºF to 72ºF - year round. Is that too much to ask.
4. Comfy chairs. And when I say chairs, I mean chairs. Preferably theater-style. With wide arm rests. Give me some space for my girth - and safe distance from the other arriving consumers.
5. Be punctual. I’ve already spent too much time getting me and the family ready and there for the meeting. Begin it on time. Have something cool playing on the big screens to entertain if we arrive a little early.
6. You’ve got an hour. Make good use of it. I want to be in and out in no more than 75 minutes. Maybe a few more if you’re serving decent coffee. Decent coffee that’s free, of course.
7. Music. Three songs up front. One fast (to get us going). One mid-tempo (to help us be reflective). End with a fast one (that tells us how much Jesus/God/the Spirit loves us - just no Jesus-Is-My-Boyfriend songs. OK!)
8. Announcements. Get them over after the music. Present them on your big screens so they can be done quickly. This isn’t a time to stick your B-team on the platform to give them some face time. And, unless Larry David is writing for you, avoid humor. Have the Final Cut folk edit your marketing stuff down to 15 second bites. If it works for Sony, it’ll work for you.
9. Offering. Now. It’s up to you where you put it. If the preacher is great, after the sermon might work better. If not. Go for the money after the announcements. (Maybe show some shots of starving third world kids in the last announcement. Heart-string-tugs work for Compassion and World Vision - why not your church.) “God loves a cheerful giver” and the Malachi 3 verses and the 100 fold blessing are important reminders. A good story of how tithing worked for someone would be great. No more than 90 seconds though.
10. Sermon. Twenty minutes. Did I make myself clear. 20 Minutes. 20. Twenty. We have the attention spans of gnats. Keep that in mind. Make it practical. If I wanted systematic theology, I would have gone to seminary. Use humor. Steal from the best if necessary. I want to leave feeling built up. And it’s a bonus if I can use the jokes/stories you told at work tomorrow.
11. Final song. Let the band rip on the last song. Feel good, happy-clappy works here. You want us wanting to come back for more next week.
12. Benediction segue. Let the band lay back and under as you Bless Us. Speak multiplied blessings over us - and then do a fast pitch for whatever product you need to sell. I did say. Fast pitch.
13. And then the band amps back up. This is the place for guitar or sax solos as we head out the doors to the shuttle bus or book store or free coffee. It’s okay to charge us something extra for Lattés.
Like I said. I’m a consumer. Oh. And a sort of a Christian. If you build this, I will come.
Or so you’ve been told.

God have mercy on us! Sad to say, this is exactly where a number of churches are in America! I absolutely believe in being relevant and redeeming the culture and using every tool at our disposal to communicate the Gospel in the language of the day! But in the effort to become socially acceptable by and to the masses, did we get what we wanted…but did we lose what we had?

Last year we were in one revival service that you absolutely knew God was bringing conviction to sinners and drawing saints to move closer to Him! But many in this particular service were either oblivious to what the Spirit was doing, or totally disinterested in allowing Him to do it!

John 6: 43, 44 give us some insight:
Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.  (44) No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

I understand for many different reasons, some in any particular service may, or may not sense the Holy Spirit tugging at their hearts (both sinners and saints alike). But there are times in which the Holy Spirit is dealing with people so strongly that you know people are on dangerous ground to reject His dealing at that particular moment! If any have an ear to hear, let him (or her) hear!

So how can people resist the wooing…the drawing and conviction of the Holy Spirit? People do it every week by resisting His dealings with us! You do not wake up one morning and decide “…I think I will resist and reject God’s dealing with me today!” No, it happens over a period of time…He deals with you to repent and you resist or make excuse…he deals with you again, and you resist…then after awhile, your heart gets so hard, you can be in the middle of the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit the world has seen, and not feel a thing!

I am not preaching emotionalism nor am I hung up on a feeling; but when the Holy Ghost brings conviction into your life, YOU WILL FEEL IT!

There are a couple of reasons the Holy Spirit draws us to Jesus:

1. He is drawing us to awaken us! There is a distinct drawing of the Holy Spirit that IS increasing, and He is doing this to wake up a church that has gone to sleep in the success and prosperity she has enjoyed the last 40 years! He is setting us up for the next Great Awakening!

2. He is drawing us because He wants to dwell with us! Psalms 65:4: Blessed [is the man whom] thou choosest, and causest to approach [unto thee, that] he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, [even] of thy holy temple.

3. He is drawing us because He wants to keep us from calamity! Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

But the real question that burns in my heart today as I type this is: “If God’s people won’t respond to Him when He draws us, what makes us think the world will respond when He draws them?” Could it be we are doing so much that is right in our own eyes, that we don’t want to be  bothered with the Holy Spirit convicting us and showing us we are not where we need to be with Him?

Father, I pray right now that we will not harden our hearts to your dealings and your conviction! Our response to your conviction releases the comfort so many people need in this hour! WE open our hearts! WE open our lives to you and we say with one voice, do in us what needs to be done so Your Glory can cover the earth as the waters cover the sea!

Mat 22:35  Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying,
Mat 22:36  Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38  This is the first and great commandment.

Mat 22:40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

What a powerful word! I’ve found out if I get the first one right, the second on comes easy!

When you fall in love with Jesus, He makes it easy to love your neighbor as yourself!

I believe in there is a baptism in and with the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance; I also believe there is a baptism of fire that comes from the Holy Spirit that is evidenced in a life that is passionately sold out to Jesus and to the Gospel!

But in this season of difficulty and uncertainty, may He give us a fresh baptism of love! Because love covers a multitude of sins!

I will be in Guyana South America next week ministering to the Amerindians. Pray for a mighty harvest as well as Holy Spirit encouragement to be released!

I was hoping to get a partner video and an update sent out on our recent Kenya Trip in December, but ministry is moving so fast, Pam and I can’t keep up. And right now, we are all we have….(to get things done, if that makes sense)

As we wrap up January 2009 we are ministering this weekend at the New Life Worship Center, Samson Alabama Winter Camp Meeting, Friday-Sunday beginning at 8pm Eastern Time, 7pm Central Time. We received this email from a young lady that was healed 3 years ago in a service in Tarboro, North Carolina. And she is STILL healed:

Hey…..I just wanted to tell you that today…Jan 23 makes 3 years since I was healed from bipolar and tommorrow Jan 24 will be 3 years free from all medications (at least a 1000g a day)…..I give him all the glory!!!!…In may I am graduating from with a degree in respiratory therapy that I want to use in a clinic on the mission field…(with all the meds I was on I failed out of school because I couldnt focus)…Also in a couple of days I am applying to Mt Zion School of Ministry somewhere I never thought I would or could be….When God heals he dont just half heal…He heals for real!!!….And you know people think God has to have a person to lay their hands on you for you to receive a healing….Remember David no one laid their hands on me……As you were telling the prayer burden God told you for a person with bipolar…..God laid HIS hands on me…..That proves it!!!!…..God is big enough to do it all by HIMSELF!!!!….I will never forget that day!…..There is not many days that go by that I dont testify to someone about it…..People would be surprized what nurses,doctors, preachers etc (people with high standard) tell me in confidence that they have or still struggle with everyday (suicide, overdose, drugs, abuse, etc)…God is always faithful to give me the words to say!!!!…I am just so thankfull for what he has done in me!!!!!….Love ya!!!!–Susan

This week we will honor the life of a dear friend of mine and Pam’s; Norma Ozley went to be with the Lord on Sunday. She was a faithful member of the church we pastored for many years in Lanett Alabama. Her children are also dear friends of this ministry and continue to support our world wide efforts. Most of all she was a child of Jesus! That makes it easy to have a celebration!

God is so good and He still moves for His people! I can already tell there is a fresh wind blowing! And I believe part of it is a result of so many of God’s people and churches fasting and praying to begin this year! While some are doing it because it has become somewhat of a fad, most of us are doing it because we know America is in need of the next Great Awakening!

A nurse who works for the doctor that pokes me with a needle when I need to go to another country had stuck a nail file under her thumb nail and it had become swollen from infection. She couldn’t move her thumb because of the pain from the infection. The doctor she works for gave her a perscription for anti-biotics that she never filled, she decided to have the church pray. After prayer Tuesday night she went to work Wednesday morning with no pain and no swelling! She had the doctor look at it and I quote: “Wow! Your finger is healed! That anti-biotic worked great!” That’s when she told him she never had it filled, she had prayer instead!

Of course, the deer in the headlights look came…

Another young girl who was wearing a heart monitor was declared by the doctors to not have any heart problems (by the doctors) and another young child that was burning up with fever was healed also!

The Lakeland Revival last year was severely discredited because people were unable to document the healings that were reported. I have purposed not to report anything that is a healing unless we can back it up with proof. We must start doing things this way to bring credibility back to the healing ministry. Because God still heals the sick…supernaturally!

And He’s not afraid of a doctor confirming it either!

As we end 2008 and blaze into 2009, Pam and I were happy to be able to join a team from New Life Beginnings Church in Pattison Texas for a 16 day ministry trip to Kenya East Africa.

This was my 6th trip to Kenya and my 2nd this year. December 3-7 we ministered in Sabatia with Pastor Paul Ligono and Serve Ministries International. Because of flight delays, Pam and I were a day late arriving into Nairobi so the convention was already started by the time we arrived. Pastor Brad Morgan kicked off the convention and the Holy Spirit moved mightily revealing what was to come.

Services lasted from 9am till way into the night each day. The hunger and thirst for God and His Word was at a high level and by Friday afternoon, something shifted dramatically and there was a major breakthrough in the afternoon session! The Holy Spirit sovereignty began moving on people and people began to dance and shout praises to God for almost an hour! Many reported to me of healings taking place in their bodies and being filled with the Holy Spirit. This breakthrough came after two days of repentance and dealing with the major spirits that had been hindering the region.

On Saturday we had the opportunity to meet and visit with the deputy Minister of Education for the nation of Kenya as well as the CEO of s new start up airline called Air Link. The CEO and the Deputy Minister are very dedicated Christian men with a tremendous heart to bring the Kenyan people out of poverty and sin and into right relationship with God.

Saturday night’s anointing service was off the map in terms of anointing. I wish I had pictures to show, but there were so many people to minister to and being ministered to, there was no time for pictures.

After two days of rest we traveled to Kilgoris, mine and Pam’s second home, for a week long Convention with the Masai people we have completely fell in love with! The Masai tribe is considered by some to be one of the forgotten people groups on the African continent. In 2004 when we first traveled to Kilgoris, we were told we were the first American mission team that had ever been in that area. That was hard for us to believe, but the people showered us with such love and respect, it immediately connected our hearts with them. I know God is going to continue to do a supernatural work among the Masai people in the years to come!

We began our ministry time on Wednesday afternoon, and already approximately over 1,000 people had already registered for the convention. Pastor Brad began to minister from 1 Kings 18, calling for the rain to fall. While he was calling for the spiritual rain, behind him the blackest cloud I’ve seen in a while was forming. Because the meetings were being held outside, the rest of the days meetings were washed out.

Thursday God gave me a message on the “Reason for the Rain”. And the rains came again! This is so significant because the area is not supposed to be having rain during this time of the year. And if they do, they are called the short rains, due to the fact they don’t last long and they are not as intense. Everyone present knew God was speaking to us about the fact that He has not forgotten His people! He is sending the rain of the Holy Spirit to confirm His inheritance that is weary!

They forbid me or Brad to preach on the rain the rest of the convention!

Friday night many were filled with the Holy Spirit, and many others gave their lives to Jesus! What blessed me the most was the fact that many of these people who surrendered their lives to Christ were older Masai men and women! Statistics in every nation show if a person does not give their life to Jesus (now before 12 years) at a young age, chances are they never will. But God still saves old people! Well over 125 people gave their lives to Jesus during the convention!

On Sunday was the anointing service in which we anointed with oil almost the entire crowd of over 6,000 people. While over 35 people gave their life to Jesus on Sunday many others received deliverances from cigarettes and liquor. Several bottles of home made liquor were poured out and burned as a sign to the devil a new day had arisen in the Masai Land of Kenya.

While Kenya has been in the news the last year due to the political unrest from last year’s elections and also for being the home of Barack Obama’s father, there is something else happening in Kenya; there is a move of the Holy Ghost coming through Kenya that will touch every part of the African continent, and then touch the nations of the world!

There are some powerful preachers of the Gospel in Kenya, many of them you’ve never heard from…and some you never will! But they are faithfully serving God, healing the sick, and even raising the dead! In the days to come I truly believe we are going to see a cloud arise from the African continent from the direction of Kenya. It’s not going to be a cloud of dust, or a cloud of turmoil or unrest; it will be a cloud of God’s Glory!

What blessed me the most was the unity we saw demonstrated among the pastors, the elders as well as the churches of the Masai nation! Over 55 pastors and over 200 churches came together for a week of worship, the Word, and fellowship. Almost ever denomination you can think of was represented in the convention. It was not some sickly, compromised unity that so often ends up destroying the integrity of the Gospel; it was a unity born of the Spirit of God. It was truly a John 17 moment, which by the way was the theme of the convention. If it can happen in Kenya, I believe it can happen here!

Thanks you to everyone who sowed a special seed for the December Kenya trip. We were not only able to help feed 1500 in the 1st convention, 6,000 in the second convention; we were also able to use some funds to finish the drilling of a well at the Masai Christina Academy in Kilgoris. And thank you to our Revival Now Prayer team who prayed for us without ceasing while we were away! Because of all of you, He works through us!

This has been the greatest year of ministry in the now 7 1/2 years of traveling. More people have been saved, healed and filled with His Spirit than ever before. We had the awesome privilege of traveling literally all the way around the world in 2008 preaching the Gospel! We have forged new friendships and ministry partnerships around the world that will provide us a link that will give us to opening to build the Kingdom of God in the days to come. I realize we are not the only ministry with a sincere heart for the Kingdom of God; but we are one of many! Thanks to all the pastors who opened up their pulpits to us in 2008; thank you for taking the chance on us and giving us an opportunity to preach the word for you this year!

I also want to thank all of you who sowed a financial gift into Revival Now Ministries in 2008! You have helped us to travel all the way around the world in 2008; but you have also helped us to reach areas of the U.S. some evangelists and itinerant ministries will not go. There’s not enough crowds or notoriety…but these people are just as important to the Kingdom of God as the masses in major cities!

As I have been cleaning up and moving into our new office space today, I came across an Amerindian Prayer I jotted down on a recent trip to Guyana. I don’t know the author, but it speaks a word of peace in these troubled times…

The world is in a lot of trouble Lord. People everywhere are going through really hard times. They need your help! Help me to live on the high place where I can better see things the way You do. Please use my life. Let me be like the waterfalls. Let me pour out to others what You give to me. Help me every day to spend time with You in my secret place. Make my spirit man powerful so I don’t spend my life limping and struggling. I want to spend my life filled with Your strength to help others.

Your giving enabled us to help feed 1500 people in the Sabatia Convention, we helped to feed almost 6,000 people in the Kilgoris convention; and we were also able to help finish a well for the Masai Christian Academy by purchasing a pump the some pipe to finish the well that was dug back in August during our trip there.

We arrive on Tuesday night in Nairobi and overnight there, then Wednesday head to our first convention in Sabatia with Serve International Ministries and Pastor Paul Ligono. We have been privileged to minister at this convention several times before and have developed many wonderful friendships there over the years. We are looking forward to being with them through Sunday.

On Monday we begin our travel to Kilgoris where we will take a couple of days to relax a little (something I don’t do very well) and then begin the 6th Annual Masai Convention in Kilgoris. God has knit mine and Pam’s heart to the Masai people and we are looking with great expectation for what God will do. The committee is expecting between 3-5,000 to be in attendance. Last year the services were phenomenal.

I don’t expect to have internet service there so there may not be many reports; but check back often because you never know; I do know cell phone service in better on the Masai Mara than it is in South Alabama!

I have never used this blog to try to book a meeting in the three or four years we have been blogging. I am thankful first of all for my wonderful wife who is truly the best friend I have in this world! And the fact that she really loves traveling doing ministry with me brings me an even fuller heart of gratitude!

I am thankful for my girls Megan and Missy, for their husbands and their children; they have given me and Pam the most beautiful grandchildren in the world! I’m also very thankful they are all serving God with all their hearts and doing a wonderful work for Jesus!

I am thankful for all our partners who stand with us so faithfully in prayers and financial support; they are the second reason we are able to do what we do in fulfilling our part of the Great Commission! (Jesus of course is first) Thank you is all I can give you now, but when we all get to heaven, you will see your giving was worth all the sacrifice!

I am thankful for all the pastors who have opened the doors and pulpits of their churches to us over the last seven years of traveling ministry! In the ministry atmosphere that pervades today, you just don’t know who you can trust your pulpit to; I’m very thankful that the Holy Spirit opened the doors for us not only to preach, but to build long term relationships with many of these pastors and their congregations; and we are seeing a fruitful Harvest come in!

I am thankful for all the new friends God has given me through Revival Journal these last few years; it has helped us to organize the Revival International Network, a group of men and women who are passionately contending for the fullness of the Gospel to be manifested on the earth as the waters cover the sea!

But most of all, I am thankful that Jesus took an insignificant southern boy, saved him, filled him  with the Holy Spirit, called him to preach and has literally taken him around the world declaring the message of repentance, restoration and revival! I never would have chosen me to do what I am doing! But as Paul the Apostle said, I’m glad He counted me faithful, putting me in the ministry!

Thank you Revival Journal readers! You have given me an opportunity to share my heart cry for revival with you! And my prayer for you is that we would all capture the Father’s heart for the earth in 2009! That we would all know HIM and that we would be one, even as He and Jesus is one!

This weekend we were in Buckatunna/Progress Mississippi in a wonderful weekend revival. I know it sounds redundant. But God is moving everywhere people will let Him!

We leave today for a couple of days in the Tennessee mountains with our kids. Our daughter and her family from Washington DC will meet up with our oldest daughter and Pam and I Thanksgiving Dinner and some time to just simply relax! We are all very excited about spending a few days together! I have been told we will have wifi, so maybe I can catch up!

Monday December 1st we leave for another trip to Kenya East Africa. We are honored to be able to take part in two conventions we have participated in before. We are traveling along with w tem from New Life Beginnings Church in Pattison Texas, and we are expecting God to show up in a mighty way! The warfare these past two weeks have been horrible…a guaranteed sign God is up to something, and the devil has gotten wind of it!

During the next couple of days, take the time to thank our Savior for all His blessings on us. Even with all our difficulties and our uncertainties, we are still living in the greatest nation on the planet!

We ended our meetings at Unity Gospel Tabernacle in Graysville, Tennessee on Friday night with a packed house and Holy Ghost Fire!

Each night the altar was filled with hungry and thirsty people reaching out to Jesus and receiving His touch into their lives! The church was packed each night with the home folks as well as people from different churches. In fact we had at least 5 different churches represented almost every night. Choirs and praise teams from area churches ministered almost every night.

I want to thank Sale Creek Church of God, Walnut Grove Church, Graysville Church of God, Sequoyah Church of God and Midway Baptist Church for partnering with Unity Gospel Tabernacle and seeing the fire of God detonate the area with His Presence!

We are on our way to CLI in Pascagoula Mississippi with Pastor Eric and Toni Camp for Sunday services on Sunday. This church is lighting up the   area with the Presence of God and we are very glad to be partnering wiht them to reach the Gulf Coast region.

Since June 2007, almost everywhere I go I have been asking congregations the question, “What is going to be our defining moment?” It was not long after that, that same phrase began coming up in the presidential election; it’s coming up is business articles I read; and every time I pray I keep hearing the Holy Ghost say, “…you are in a defining moment in history!

It has been said that there are moments in history when a door for historic change is blown wide open. Great revolutions that overthrow the status quo occur in the vacuum created by these openings. It is in these moments that key men and women, pastors, churches-even entire generations become the hinge of history, that pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing.

We are in a defining moment in the history of the United States as well as the history of the church in the US as we know it now! While I could go on and on and on about everything that is wrong with the church in America; I believe the church in America- those who have abandoned all desire of being recognized, being first, being exalted; we have abandoned that fleshly carnal desire for a greater desire; a desire to see Jesus made famous again, a desire to see the real church of Jesus Christ rise up and be that catalyst of love, power and true holiness our generation has never seen!

Webster’s Dictionary states the word defining as the following:

1a to determine or identify the essential qualities or meaning of;
2a to fix or mark the limits of: demarcate; b. to make distinct, clear or detailed in outline
3a to characterize, distinguish (this is the definition I like)

A moment can simply be defined as a spot, a moment…a sliver of time…

While many are defined by the clothes they wear, others are defined by the school they went to or the career they chose; some are defined by the cars they drive, the houses they live in, or by the denomination they chose to affiliate with.

Sad to say, too many are allowing themselves to be defined by a sin or a belief system or a political idealism that is totally contrary to the Word of God!

Our defining moment involves a decision. Are we going to follow Jesus with all our heart? Are we going to allow the Word of God to shape our politics, our philosophy and our belief system? Or, are we going to cave in to the demands of a sin sick, narcissistic, unregenerate society that simply wants to silence our voice of reason and righteousness?

I could weave a walk through the Word and illustrate quite a number of people in the Word are there because they had a defining moment with God! But to save time I want to leave you with three thoughts:

1. Our defining moment will be marked by a genuine attitude of repentance and brokenness.

Acts 3:19 still commands us to repent and be converted! Keep in mind, Peter is speaking these words to a group of people who are absolutely convinced they are doing it all right! They are God’s chosen people! They had the Law! They had angels! They had the sacrifices!

But they had lost the power of the reality of who they were serving!

When you make up your mind you are not simply serving Jesus for the free ticket out of hell card, you will begin to find true life and life more abundantly!

When was the last time you looked around and was broken over the lost-ness of humanity? When was the last time you helped a homeless person? When was the last time you looked at the news and became grieved over the direction our nation was headed?

I spoke publicly last November that God was stripping the church of some of its political clout, because we have begun to trust our connections in Washington, instead of trusting in the Lord our God!

Will we repent because we sense the Holy Spirit convicting us of our carnality, our carelessness, our superficial spirituality; or will be have to repent because things get so bad we have no other place to turn but to God?

For those who chose to walk in repentance and true holiness, God is going to provide supernaturally both physically, spiritually and financially!

2. Your defining moment will be marked by a distinct hunger and thirst for God.

Matthew 5:  still says “Blessed are they which hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled!”

Almost everywhere I go there is a renewed hunger and thirst for God I have not seen in last seven years Pam and I have been traveling. I say almost everywhere, because, not everyone is hungry and thirsty for God! They are hungry, but they are hungry for power, prestige and promotion!

3. Your defining moment will always be determined by your response to the Word of God and the Spirit of God.

I am afraid we have settled for getting just close enough to God to feel His tug of conviction, His brooding Presence, but not close enough for Him to totally change us!

Change me O God until I am totally changed into another man! A man of true holiness and true righteousness, one that completely radiates the true image of Jesus! And help me to always obey the voice of Your Spirit speaking in my heart!

Help us to take full advantage of this defining moment!

The River is a merger of two churches: Emmanuel Church and New Beginnings Assembly. Pastor Shane Smith and Pastor Billy Bryan are working together to touch the city for Jesus! And they are!

On Wednesday night, they are hosting between 130-175 young people! In a town where few churches run that in attendance even on Easter or Christmas! To God Be The Glory!

Many filled the altar on Sunday morning seeking the Lord for the city of Eufaula. May God help then to continue to dig the wells of Living Water that are needed to satisfy the thirst of people in East Alabama!

I have realized one of the things God has called us to do is to go into areas on a regular basis and preach, pray and contend for breathrough in that city as well as in the region. I have known that, but didn’t know how to completely articulate it until my friend Brad Morgan confirmed it in a conversation this week. I have been joked about by some minister friends as simply being on staff at some of these churches I go to on a regular basis. God is not simply giving me a place to preach as much as He is giving us partnerships to seek for the ancient wells of revival and Living Water to flourish once again.
Pastor Deborah Prihoda sent me this information she dug up this week on revival in the Rosenberg Texas area:
“Parham was invited to preach at services on Easter Sunday, 1905, in Orchard Texas. His message was so well received that a revival broke out. This was the beginning of Pentecost in Texas. On July 10, 1905, Parham, together with about two dozen co-workers, returned to Texas to conduct a revival in Houston. It caught on and people from near-by cities came to receive their personal Pentecost. After traveling elsewhere, Parham conducted a mighty revival in Galveston, Texas, during the fall of 1905. Following the outpouring of the Holy Ghost in Galveston zealous believers approached Parham concerning their need for Bible study and training. In December 1905 he opened the Bible Training School at 503 Rusk Street in Houston Texas. Opened as a faith ministry, the school did not charge fees or tuition. By 1907, it was reported that nearly 13,000 people had come under the influence of Parham’s Pentecostal message.”

I am convinced from my study of the history of Pentecost in Houston, the revival that touched the world from Azuza Street was supposed to take place in the Houston Area! God is raising up and setting in place leadership that is willing to re-dig those well of Living Water; so that once again, Houston will have the opportunity to see the Glory of the Lord cover the region…as well as the world!

No, I do not want to capture some “old glory”; I just want to see the area receive what God intended to give over 100 years ago!

You stay and have services!

We will return tonight to First Assembly in Rosenberg, Texas with Pastor Deborah Prihoda. Last night the Holy Spirit hovered over the services in such a way that we just knew we needed to continue. Rosenberg is within a few miles of the spot in which Charles Parham held his Bible School and revival meetings before the Azuza Street Outpouring broke out in 1906. In fact, after studying the history of those days here in Houston, I’m convinced the outpouring that took place in Los Angeles in 1906, should have taken place in the Houston area. But racism, denominationalism and a terrotorial mentality sent WJ Seymor to LA where the rest is history!

Tuesday night and Wednesday night we will be back in Pattison Texas at New Life Beginnings Church with Pastor Brad Morgan. The Holy Spirit moved in such a way Saturday night and Sunday morning that, again, we just knew we should continue the meetings.

I hope in the next few days, or at least before the end of the year, I want to post some things I believe the Lord has shown me about the need for extended meetings, revival, and our attitude in what constitutes a real revival. I know it will stir a hornets nest because many preachers, even in Pentecostal and Charismatic churches think that the days of revival and the need for extended meetings are over.

I realize this type of “church” does not fit the DNA of some churches; but for those congregations and pastors who are hungry and thirsty and realize what was begun in the Spirit cannot be completed in the flesh, we must contend for the faith left to us by our forefathers.

And I contend the faith left to us was a faith filled with the Power and the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

Let the fire FALL!

There is a strong call for us to come back to holiness as the Church of Jesus Christ! Many of the things we are accused of we are guilty of. Powerless. Hypocritical. Too political. Too territorial. Selfish. Cold. Indifferent.

But things are changing! God is raising up hungry people who only want the Presence of God!

Holiness. Holiness is what I long for. Holiness is what I need. Not a dress code or a legalistic set of rules that not one has ever been able to live by. But the true holiness of God to manifest in every area of our lives!

God spoke to me in 2002 that He was going to use the Houston Texas area in this last move of God in the US. In fact, the move of the Spirit that took place at Azuza Street in 1906 was suppose to take place in the Houston area. But racism and denominationalism caused God to move on until He found a place that would allow Him to be God! But I can report to you, there are some churches in the Houston area that God is priming for a tremendous outpouring!

Lord, send the fire!

No one who serves the Lord in ministry, whether full time or bi-vocational, wants to stand before Him and find out we missed the opportunity of a lifetime in our lifetime of opportunities! We not only want to be faithful, but also grow and develop into the full measure of the men and women of God He has called us to be!

With that in mind here’s three thoughts to remember as we go higher up the ladder with God:

1. The higher we go in God, the more a target we become to the enemy. I can remember as a youth pastor, I would go into my pastor’s office many times almost in tears, not understanding the reason I was being attacked; many times by the very parents whose kids I was trying to lead into right paths! He would always tell me, “…son, the closer you walk with the Lord the more a threat to the enemy you become!” In fact, the amount of pressure you feel right now, is the amount of potential you have in God! So if you are reading this and are under the gun, especially for no particular reason you can put your finger on, rejoice! You need to scream out POTENTIAL!!!!!! You are being made partaker of the sufferings of Christ! And the sufferings of this present evil world do not compare to the Glory that is going to be revealed in us!

2. Secondly, the higher we go in God, the tighter the grip we must have. I can remember climbing radio towers when I was in my 20’s; I would do fine until I got to between 125-150 feet. Something happened when I would get to 150 feet; I realized I could not simply climb casually from there on; one careless slip up would send me falling to my death! I know Jesus will never leave us or forsake us! But the higher we go in Him, the tighter the grip we must have on our thoughts, our doctrine, our handling of the scripture! We must know why we believe what we believe, and make absolutely certain what we believe is based on the entirety of the Word of God and not something that will keep the crowds worked up and coming to our meetings!

3. Lastly, the higher we go in God, the more cautious we must be about decisions we make, places we go and the words we use! Death and life are in the power of the tongue! We are either going to speak life to people or speak death! If the President of the United States were to tell the corny jokes I tell sometimes, he would start a world war! If that is true for a president, what about us as men and women of God? While a greater anointing may bring us into greater places of ministry with larger crowds, a greater level of anointing also comes with a greater responsibility to walk out that anointing with humility and integrity!

May we never quit striving for that higher place in God! No matter the cost!

The financial crisis on Wall Street has everyone (including the church) almost in a panic. Could this be the beginning of the end? Is this what will usher in the mark of the beast? Could be!

I always sa at this juncture, I believe in the rapture of the church! But we in America have developed an attitude that says “God will not allow us to see hard times or any testing or tribulation because of all the money and missionaries we have sent around the world…”

I have to tell you, I am NOT a doom and gloom preacher! But I have to warn you as a trumpet, we ARE going to see dificult times; whether it’s now, next year or in the years to come; and it will happen BEFORE THE RAPTURE! I telling you now, as I have been telling congregations all over the world, God is not going to allow this country to thumb her nose at God and His precepts without there being a payday.

But my prayer is that in wrath, God would remember mercy! His mercies do endure forever! David says I have been oung and now I am old, yet I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging bread!

Put your trust in the Lord. Not Wall Stree or the government!

Every time I talk to him something stirs up inside me! They have the heart of God for the South Florida area and God is using them to touch a generation that needs God to move for them in a mighty way! This generation they are reaching does not need something sensitive and watered down; this Criss Angel mindfreak generation needs the Power of our Holy God to show up in their lives! And He IS! With signs and wonders!

After ten days of not preaching I feel refreshed and back in the fight!!

Since I have been grounded the last week recovering from wisdom tooth surgery, it’s given me some time to ponder this year and what God has done…and the tragedies we have experienced in the Body of Christ.

Everything God spoke to me in November 2007 has come to pass for Revival Now.
The Spirit took me to Psalms 8 and outlined several things that I will not rehash completely, but simply make note of:
He has given us a new beginning…in more areas than I can list;

He has given me a fresh focus that everything in this ministry is to be centered on HIM;

I feel He has given me a more Kingdom of God focus instead of a denominational focus; I didn’t think I had a denominational focus to begin with, but now just the word makes me nauseous! And I have seen ministers and ministries who have been denominationally territorial (if that is a word) begin to lose some influence they had because of being territorial;

He has allowed us to see a fresh move of God among children, youth and young adults;

He has allowed us to see the need for spiritual fathers and mothers to rise us and take responsibility for young men and women who have been raised naturally without a father in the home, and are crying out for a father and mother to spiritually nurture them so they won’t make the same mistakes others have made;

He has allowed us to see the continued rebellion literally explode in the body of Christ; especially across the generational lines…never has the generational prejudice been any more pronounced than it has this year;

He has begun a visitation that is releasing true Kingdom dominion for people. Not a dominion that is going to cause the church to take over the world; but the failures of the many high profile preachers that has taken place in the last twelve months is bringing to the forefront people and ministries that have been laboring in obscurity for many years, but they have labored with integrity. These people God is going to silently bring forth…the David’s who have been faithful simply serving God in their field of labor; not the Eliab’s who get the recognition and look as if they stand taller than all the rest, but they are angry because they are getting no recognition!

And finally, there is still a stripping going on of the church’s position of influence in the politics of America. Even though Sarah Palin has energized evangelicals to get involved finally in the election of 2008, the church is still racially divided, and personality divided probably more so now than in times past. In 2008, people will not vote on the real issues, they will vote on personality. And it will further divide the church and polarize our real agenda which is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Our trust was never meant to be put into one particular political party or one certain denomination; our hope and our trust is to be in Jesus and Jesus alone!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean to your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5, 6

God help us to stop putting all our trust in men and put it back in God and God alone!

We also met with a couple of pastors/evangelists while we were there that are taking trips into the very remote areas spreading the Gospel. Many people’s hearts have been open to Jesus since the earthquake. Their plea to us was for prayer to keep people’s hearts open to the Gospel until they could get there to present it to them! God made the way for two of the evangelists to get a motor bike to help them reach the very remote areas with both supplies and with the Gospel!

The absolute highlight for me was on the last Sunday night we were in Beijing; we had the opportunity to meet with a man who is considered the Billy Graham of the house church movement. He is a powerful man in his late 80’s, in declining health, but still very strong to be that old. I won’t tell everything he shared with us that night, but I left with the greater blessing! I asked him if he had to do it all over again what would he do. His reply was he would do more! As we fellowshipped around the dinner table, the Presence of God filled the room and we wept and wept, because we knew we were in the presence of a real man of God. No diamond rings on his hands. No entourage to follow him around and protect him from the crowds. No program on TBN. No personal airplane to fly him to the next stop. But he does have many scars on his wrists from being shackled in prison for months at a time. Scars on his body from the beatings he received while in prison for the Gospel!

Don’t anyone tell me it’s too hard to live for Jesus today! Tell that to this pastor who spent over 20 years in prison…for preaching the Gospel!

Thanks seem like shallow words to express my sincere gratitude for those who sowed seeds for this trip. Ever dime you sent me was placed in the hands of men and women of God who absolutely needed it! Thanks also to the friends who helped us get there! We absolutely could not do what we do without you standing with us both in prayer and in finances!

I know I have been very vague in these last couple of emails, but the situation is so sensitive in China, we don’t want to make life any harder for these brothers and sisters than it already is. Pray for our Kenya brethren as we go again to minister to them in two great conventions in December; and pray for the church in China! When I told them people all over the U.S. was praying for them, their faces lit up with encouragement!

They could very well be the ones who win the last souls to Christ before His return!

And pray for us also! I had a wisdom tooth cut out on Thursday that has forced me to cancel a tent revival I had scheduled for Birmingham Alabama next week. The doctor will not allow me to preach for a whole week. The infection around my tooth was worse than the surgeon expected. But God has already done a miracle! He told me I would have permanent nerve damage to my lower lip because I had waited too long to get it out; but there is complete feeling in both my lips and jaw! Because I feel every ounce of pain that is in there!

Dear Intercessors,

Sorry to take so long in getting you this final update. I feel like I have been in a coma since we returned last Friday, and wanted to process everything some more before sending this to you all.

I cannot thank you all enough for all your prayer covering while we were in Kenya and China. Especially in China as we experienced first hand the pressure and persecution the Chinese brothers and sisters live under every day of their lives! I am very glad I live in America!

I will have to be vague about the people and towns we traveled to while in China for obvious reasons. I do not want to jeopardize anyone or any work that is ongoing. But I can tell you God is moving in China! In spite of all the devil’s tactics!

The day we landed in Beijing, we traveled to city #1 where we had the opportunity to have lunch with some university students that are on fire for God! For almost 3 hours we sat around a table in a local restaurant and ministered to those students on their giftings and callings. Like little birds they drew things out of me I didn’t know I had…especially after all the flying we had done! They are so hunger for God, and some of them have already experienced some tremendous persecution. I have great encouragement and hope for China… their future leaders are sincerely seeking after God’s heart!

We left there and traveled to city number 2 where we experienced first hand some of the pressures these house church leaders have to live under day after day. After checking into our hotel, we were attempting to meet with one leader who has hundreds of house churches under his network. But he is under such scrutiny, and we were convinced the hotel rooms were bugged so we ended up meeting him under a tree down by the river that ran close to the hotel we were staying in.

For 45 minutes to an hour we listened to Pastor Joseph (not his real name) as he shared of how God was growing the house churches in spite of the opposition from the government. But the biggest need they have now is discipleship materials that are not written with a western mindset. When he shared that with us, I repented again in my heart for the idea we have fostered in the U.S. that we are the last true guardians of the Christian faith! If anyone could be the guardians of the Christian faith it could very well be these Chinese pastors who will labor their entire lives with any recognition, honor or adequate monetary support; but they do it all in Jesus name and for His honor! If the Gospel goes to the whole world in our lifetime, it won’t be because of the power or the pompousness of the U.S. church; it will be because of pastors like these house church pastors who have literally sacrificed everything to follow Him!

The next day we were scheduled to have lunch with Joseph and four other families whom satan has being attempting to bring division between. As we left the hotel, we noticed a blue van following us. We attempted to dodge them a few times, but when that didn’t work we simply decided to go to another restaurant to keep from drawing attention to these other leaders.

At the restaurant, our translator Paul ordered something that looked like chicken stew. Basically it was a whole chicken cut up with a meat cleaver and scraped into a bowl of water. Every piece of the chicken. The first portion that was dipped out went to me and of all things…it was the chicken head! I do know it was a rooster!

It’s all for the Gospel!

The goons followed us back to the hotel and almost all the way back to the airport before they finally dropped out. Just the pressure we felt, the heaviness that we experienced made me realize, we really cannot grasp the freedom we have here in the U.S.! I know you have heard it over and over; I have heard and even said it over and over that we must never take our freedom for granted! That day, I thanked God for allowing me to be born in the U.S.! But I also recommitted my life and my service to Him…no matter what it cost me! If I have this much freedom, I MUST use it lest it be take from me!

Just a final note on this post; the families that were having some division between them…God began the process of healing and they agreed to continue meeting together to seek God about what He would have them do together!

As many of you have heard me say so often; people are people wherever you go; the devil is the devil wherever you go; and JESUS WILL BE LORD WHEREVER YOU GO… if He can just find someone who will let Him be Lord! Evidently, our job was to simply get these families together…and Jesus did the rest!

But when you consider that there are an estimated 100 million Christians in China, and even if there has been 40 million Bibles printed and distributed (as some report) there are still 60 million short!

Bob Bangkok also told us there there are still un-reached areas in China where people have never heard the Gospel. In a remote area of the Sichuan province he was doing some work in a village in which he asked a man had he ever heard of Jesus Christ. The man’s reply was “…is that some kind of candy?”

This lets me know there is still much work to be done! Another fallacy the American church has promoted is if we (America) don’t do it it won’t get done. But in China now, there are more Korean believers working the harvest than any other national group! That is thrilling to me! We must do our part in fulfilling the Great Commission! But the Great Commission is not for the U.S. to do alone:

It’s for the entire Body of Christ world wide to do!

And we are.

Just a quick note to thank you again for talking to your Father for us! We have made much progress with the business here in this sensitive part of the world and hope to see some fantastic results in the future!

We are in Hong Kong today passing through to Thailand to visit a friend who is in the same business as we are who is having some complications we hope to be able to help with. We appreciate your concern over his matter also! I still have to be sensitive to what I write here. Thanks for your understanding! 

I will have a full report for you on Friday. It may be almost a book, but I think you’ll enjoy it!

So often I run into people in the U.S. that think the U.S. is the last great hope of society. But I have personally met some young university students in some very remote areas of the world that are on fire for God and will be used by Him to change the destiny of the world! In fact, many of them are ready to give it all if they have too! That pours gas on my fire!!!!

God is moving at times even greater in other parts of the world than He is in the U.S.; because of their hunger and thirst for Him! May God help us to regain that hunger and thirst for Him; may we become significant in His eyes instead of mans!

Dear Intercessors!

Sorry it took so long to update you, but internet connections in Kenya in the interior are hard to come by! It’s like trying to get cell phone service in South Alabama!

WOW! Where do I begin? The Pastors Conference in Kilgoris was a Grand Slam! Approximately 40 pastors and their wives came together (along with other friends of the community) for three days of teaching preaching and worship. We were also honored to be able to help carry 60 Dakes Study Bibles one of our partners purchased and donated to the pastors for their personal study. Needless to say they were thrilled to receive such a precious gift as the Word of God!

We met at the Masai Christian Academy in Kilgoris where a water drilling team from Serve International Ministries in Sabatia came and drilled a new water well for the school. I’m glad to report the well is dug and the children of the school and the people of the area are going to enjoy the benefits of clean drinking water!

From there we traveled to a town in Eastern Kenya named Sultan-Hamud. There we participated in a Masai Conference sponsored by IMU, the International Ministers Unity. It was such a blessing to Dave Johnson and I to see 200 pastors from 39 different denominations and a total of 5,000 people come together in the open air to worship God and to teach and preach the Word. Friday night many responded to the altar call for healing and many reported receiving their miracle. Saturday we ministered on “Whose Altar Are You Bowing To?” Our friend David Memusi told me over 800 people responded to the altar call, renouncing and tearing down altars they had build to false gods and praying for rain to and the power of the Holy Ghost to fill the Masai land!

Sunday morning we work up to rain falling at the hotel we were staying at! This comes during the dry season for Kenya as it is very rare that it rains this time of the year! The Masai pastors that were traveling with us were very excited as they recognized it was a sign of the blessings of God falling on their area!

Sunday after nearly three hours of speeches by different pastors We ministered and conducted an anointing service. Most people of other countries (especially third world countries) have an understanding and hunger for the anointing and the laying on of hands developed countries seem to miss. What they lack in material and educational wealth, they certainly make up for it in a hunger and desire for God and His touch! Afetr anointing 3,000 people with oil (with of course help from all the pastors present) there were many people layed out under the Power of God. One young girl named Catherine I prayed for who was “mad” was instantly delvered of tormenting sprits, and the joy and glow on her face blessed all those around her! Many again reported receiving healing in their bodies from the touch of God, not the touch of a man!

The greatest thing to see was the altar call that was given for salvation and approximately 40 people came forward to receive Jesus; many of these who came forward were older Masai men! see, God is still calling and saving men, all over the world!

There is much more but I am trying not to write a book with this email. I simply want each of you to know how important and powerful your prayers were felt durint this trip! I am also going to post this email to revivaljournal.com and maybe add a few nuggets I missed here. If you would like, pelase feel free to forward this to anyone who you think might be interested in praying for us and seeing what God is doing around the world!

As I write this we are in London connecting to a sensitive area of the world where our CEO is sending us to meet with other like minded people in our company there and to get an update on how the business is progressing in 2008. I’ll give you an update and an interpretation when I get home!

Finally brethren: continue to pray for us! Also, forgive me for all the typing errors…I am using a European Computer keyboard and it works nothing like ours in the U.S. does! If for some reason I cannot send an email update from this sensitive area, I will do so when I get back to the U.S.

Please cover us in prayer for the following:
1. Of course, traveling mercy. Enough said there!

2. Of course that our bodies will adjust quickly to the time zone changes. We will have limited time in the countries we are going to so we don’t want to have to deal with several days of jet lag while trying to minister.

3. Pray for us that God will reveal HIS plan for this next season in God for us. Some unusual things have developed in the last several weeks that show Pam and I a shift in emphasis and direction for us in the coming months. Pray that God will reveal the complete plan He has.

4. Most of all, pray for a harvest of souls. This is the most important one. This is why we are going. I have been burdened for the lost and backslider more in the last two weeks that I have in years. Not that I haven’t had a burden for the lost up till now…it’s just intensifying… the hour is so late and there is an urgency in my Spirit to finish strong!

Pam will be keeping you who are on our partner email list updated by email this trip. I will have to relay messages to her and then she will forward them to you all because I do not have everyone’s email address on my webmail account. I know you will enjoy hearing from her. Also, our communications from a very sensitive part of the world we are going to after Kenya will need to be interpreted because….it’s sensitive. I will attempt to keep you updated here on our blog and will have a full report when we will return to the States on September 5 and begin a very busy Fall season!

Thanks to everyone who gave a special offering for this trip. We will also be going back in December so if you would like to support the December convention we will give you that opportunity to do so. Any time someone on a national level gets in trouble it effects smaller ministries like ours. I thank all of our partners who stand with us and believe in what God has called us to do!

With the tremendous shaking and poloarizing that is going on in the Body of Christ right now, it has made me more determined to do the following:

1. Search my heart and come before the Lord in genuine repentance. While no one, I repeat, no one is preaching, teaching or interpreting the Word of God with 100% accuaracy; yet when you deliberately disregard established Biblical teaching and begin to add experiences to your life and ministry just to either get a platform or increase your platform’s influence you are headed for quicksand! God help me, help me, to get it right and to preach it right!

2. I am asking God to show me what I need to quit doing (ministry as well as personally) so I can stay focused and bring the greatest potential for the blessings of God on my life and family and ministry! Give me the grace to let go of the things I need to let go of so I can only embrace the things I need to embrace!

3. I am sincerely attempting to humble myself before the Lord…even in the areas of our successes! With all the success we have seen in many of our revivals and crusades this year it would be easy to get full of pride and think we are the next coming of a great and super ministry….But as long as I see lost people come and go from our services without being convicted to repentance and genuine change, there’s really nothing to brag about! As long as I see people leave our services (even when I think the Glory of God is coming down) without making a fresh commitment to Christ, I must take responsibility and examine my heart and life and see if there is some wickedness in me that is keeping God from touching every person I come in contact with! For Good! As long as I see Christian people leave our services with the same sickness afflicting them as when they came, we have nothing to get full of pride about!

For everyone who does not believe God will heal sick people today, stay tuned.

I head the testimony last night of a man who got saved in Mobile Alabama. He’s not been saved long enough to get religious; he simply believes God can do ANYTHING!

he was at work recently and was talking with his supervisor. His supervisor told him about his wife that was in Central America in the hospital; she had been in an automobile accident and had been in a a coma for 30 days. He told the man, “…we will pray right now and God will raise her up!” He grabbed the man’s hand and prayed a simple prayer, with all the faith he had, and at the very moment he finished, the supervisors phone rang and it was a lady on the other in speaking in spanish telling his supervisor his wife simply just “woke up!” And this miracle CAN be verified!

I realized a couple of years ago, the degree of humility you walk in will determine the degree of anointing you receive from the Lord.

James 4:10 says: Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.

1 Peter 5 tells us to humble ourselves under His mighty hand that He may exalt us in due time.

Many would say that’s a simple spin of semantics! But I am at a place in my life, that I don’t want to live the rest of my short days simple in sight of Jesus…I want Him to be able to put His hand on me with blessings and not chastisement and constant correction!

Do you want to simply live “in plain sight of Jesus” or do you want to live under His mighty hand?

I’ve been re-reading a book published by the Billy Graham Association titled The Law of Revival. It’s a quick read if you can lay your hands on a copy, I believe it would bless you. It keeps reminding me the how complicated we have made serving God and getting close to God! It’s not rocket science folks! He came to seek and to save the lost!

And revival is simple also; If My people…

I ask the question again, what part of 2 Chronicles 7:14 do we not understand?

We conducted Sunday Services in Jackson, Alabama at First Assembly of God and Pastor E.C. Russell. The have a growing church in a small south Alabama community off Highway 43. God showed up in a powerful way and both services, the altars were filled with hungry people seeking the face of God!

That is the absolute truest key for revival! When God’s people, which are called by His name, will humble themselves, seek His face and turn from their wicked ways, THEN (emphasis mine) He will hear from heaven, He will forgive our sin, and He will heal our land!

What part of this do we not understand?
